jesus christ. i am so fucking sick of this crap, so sick of this crap crap crap crap!
i am going crazy, and im sick of dumping money into this
here are things i replaced to solve the problem (which failed)
fuel filter,
Cat Converter,
Distributor cap,
Distributor rotor,
Air filter,
spark plugs,
Plug wires,
Ignition Coils,
i cleaned out the throttle body (which fixed idle problem)
and i cleaned the MAF (which fixed my jerking problem)
every time i hit 3700-4000 RPMS my car will just blow off,
it will just kinda die, but still i can redline eventually
it makes a more deeper spaced tone when i do this
and it usually is triggerd when i floor it
when i take my foot off some i can get a little more before it starts
yea, there is a revving problem thread but nothing on there is working
i want to get this solved, then i can race my sisters lancer this summer
what i believe i could have done wrong,
something with the plug wires,
in the revving thread i did follow instruction and put them back in order, but im still not positive if i did it right.
this car is running me broke and i just wanna be able to make it through 4-5 grand sometimes!!!!

Im Sick Of This Problem
timing?
Double check if your wires are in all the way to the spark plugs.

timing?
how would i diagnose that?
do what i'm doing save money for a CA18DET!!!!!! or DE for economy!
listen my Ca20e and a weird electrical problem like 1 day it'll run on 4 cylinders and the next moment injector one cut power off and I'm back to 3.
just wait and save money. although i have been thinking about the FC22 (SP) (honda s2000) 230hp stock hell might be worth it my goal was 150. but now if i get that motor it'll be 260hp and thats it.
seriously as nice as you S12 is (i love your S12 so clean) don't waste anymore money on the piece of crap CA20E. me personally if i was you i would start looking for a CHEAP car and use that as a DD and ground the S12. but again thats just me.
Mine would do the same thing. It would rev past 3k if I barely touched the throttle, but if I floored it it would die out then rev again once it got to 1k. I switched the coil wires and it stopped. Try it and see if it helps.
Check the timing and vaccum lines I would say

coil wires?
the wires that go to the ignition coils?
watch the video, turn on your speakers, and listen!
i basically am flooring it most of the video,
oh and, it even started to fuck up at 3 grand also if you can see, when i floored it all the way

wow. sounds like misfire too. check your timing it could be that.
Check the harness? Dosn't have power transistors, huh. Sounds like a coil switch type thing though- no ass up high. The more complicated crap gets, the more things to go wrong. Check the FSM, component tests.
alright ill check the timing,
and ill recheck the plugs
if all fails like usual ill have to take it to the stupid ass shop
then it comes out of my wallet like the rain latley
find a another set of coils in a yard and swap them i had major rev/boosting issues due to my coils going bad

i cant understand your grammer
i have new ignition coils anyways! brand new

FSM= (to me) "Flying Spaghetti Monster, the deity of the religion Pastafarianism"
alright.
sorry didnt see that you had gotten new coils... hmm have you check the coil transistors...
I watched the video. It isn't doing what mine did. Mine would completely cut out around 3000 rpm, like I turned it off, until around 1000 to 1500 rpm and then come back on. Kinda like a really harsh rev limiter. You might still try it though. Yes, the ignition coils. Take the spark plug type wires off the coils and swap them. Front one to the back one, back one to the front one. If it doesn't help then switch them back.

although ive never dealt with your problem personally, since its been so hard to track i would systematically isolate different componants. if you have access to a timing light, check each plug wire while revving to see if it sparks or not. if they all fire normally, then it might be fuel related. if you can, test fuel press while checking spark, if press drops at higher revs, then youve found your problem. pump may not be providing enough fuel, either weak motor or plugged inlet filter. if all that checks out, then you have to get creative, maybe swap computers or crash it for insurance?

well
i watched a MAF service video on a 911 porshe
yea you cant relate really too it
but his kinda looked like the same problem
like the little metal tab would bank out at the higher rpm side,
so he pulled his MAF apart and reset the tab, so it stayed on track
could that happen to my car?
timing light? ill ask around about that
Factory Service Manual= FSM
FSM means Factory Sevice Manual. There are some available on here in PDF form or you could search for one on Ebay.
Google something like "how to check ignition timing" and if correcting any problems you find there doesn't fix it check for "how to check valve timing"
The FSM has all the info and procedures too
