Ka24e Swap Into 86 S12
if you have a c-trans it should bolt up fine and the ka will drop right in just use the ka mounts and you should be fine if you do use the ka trans you will need to modify the trans mount
you'll need the ka24e transmission bellhouse, and clutch and flywheel and related gear, to bolt to your exsisting s12 gearbox, if you have a c-style transmission in your s12 already. this combnation should work without you haveing to move your mounts or driveshaft
To clarify,
Using KA transmission= modifying trans mount, use S13 front driveshaft, or custom 1-piece.
Using stock S12 transmission= take KA bellhousing (front half of trans) and swap it for the S12 c-trans bellhousing. Stock driveshaft fitment.
IF YOU HAVE A C- Trans ORIGINALLY (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Being an 86, you could be either way. It says on the silver tag on the firewall.
IF you went LSD, and were just changing the interal part of the rear end (IE not swapping the entire case for a different one) then driveshaft stays. If for some reason you aquire a rear end with an LSD, and do not actually swap the internals, stuff will change.
btw, differential= actual part inside,
rear end/case= cast iron part you can see. The case all the stuff is in. The part that makes it a limited-slip is inside of the case, and is a separate replaceable part, assuming its the same fit/specs.
