hey guys...well ive had my ca running for awhile now, im still workgin out every single bug, and im pretty damn close to making my s12 my daily...but my alternator isnt charging...thing is is that i am not using the factory cluster, and i heard from a friend at work that if the charge light isnt connected the charging system is seeing no resistance and the alternator will not charge, now, ive changed the alternator to one off of my s13 and i thought it was good, but it isnt putting out but .36 volts, sooo i bought a new alternator today, but before i install it i wanna make sure that its not somthing else, so i can return it ya know??? so any word of advice on ca18det charging systems and the like would be great...because i have no idea whats wrong...i can put shit together, but im terrible at diagnosing

Have you grabbed a volt meter and made sure that the alternator was bad? Ground the black probe and put the red one on the charge post on the back of the alternator

For me, it was something as dumb as a blown black fusible link which I could only find at a junkyard or Nissan Dealership.
