did these things come stock with adjustable wastegate arms? mine has one and it looks oem, not custom.
Adjustable Wastegate
What "things"? CA18DET's? No, they come with fixed ones -- Standard Garrett T25. Standard in every way, inside and out. Okay not the compressor housing. But otherwise everything else is standard, including the wastegate.
Someone must have put something different/custom on. Just because something's custom doesn't mean it can't look as professional as OEM parts.
GCG Turbos in Australia sells adjustable wastegate actuators that look just like OEM, except for the turnbuckle on the shaft.
Either way it's not factory.
Definitely not stock.
well who ever made it fucked up and didn't adjust the arm right. can someone measure the stock arm for me so i get mine right?
what seams to be the prob are you over boosting... not boosting???
Actually someone should just point us to where to buy a stock T25G wastegate arm and can, because I need one, too.
Lengthening the arm will increase boost and decrease length decreases boost I think. Adjust your arm accordingly.
i've been playin with it but it has proved troblesome

Ya gots it backwards wink.gif Shortening the arm tightens it, putting more tension on the spring in the canister, requiring more boost to defeat the spring (just like an adjustable BOV). Lengthening the arm makes the spring easier to defeat, hence less boost required.
Shorten for more boost. Lengthen for less.

exactly... as jason stated...

i believe atp turbo carries them
Okay, it was one or the other. Haven't had an adjustable wastegate for about 6-7 yrs now lol
Yeah there's really no need, that's what a boost controller is for.

wich is why i need to get the arm length right, so my controler works right. and i've been trial and erroring it but just can't get the damn thing right.
Same question as Bart, No boost or too much? Sounds like not enough boost.
what the car is boosting at is irelivant to my question of how long the stock arm is. but if you realy must know its over boosting right now. i know makeing it longer will lower the boost, but its very sensitive to length changes and i'm getting very frustrated trying to get the length just right.
Well think about it, you keep asking us how long it should be, but we've already established that it's custom (even if it looks clean and original), so who knows how long that particular custom arm "should" be.
Ok so here is what you do.
Remove your boost controller (and plug up whatever holes you need to), and route a single hose from your wastegate can to a hose barb on the OUTLET of the compressor, like so:
That sets it up where the only boost control is the actuator spring itself.
Set up like that, you should get 7 psi. NO MORE, NO LESS.
So set it up like that with a single hose from point A to point B, and tweak the arm length until you are at 7 psi.
A note to start with, if you can easily slip on and off the arm from the swingarm (the flapper hinge), then it's TOO LOOSE, and you will be at ZERO boost. You should have to pull it out with some muscle to hook it onto the wastegate flapper. The harder it is to put onto the swingarm, the more tension you put on the spring, and the harder it is for PSI to defeat that spring and push the wastegate flapper back open.
I've just given you everything you need to resolve this issue, but if all else fails, go here and buy the 6 psi stock replacement (at least I think it is):

At the very least ATP can tell you through email which one is the stock one.
fron all the actuators i have but on the arm should be about 1/2 a hole shorter(the hole that fits onto the flapper arm) that seems to be a universal pretension that turbo companies set the actuators up too
That's not helpful, if his armature is custom, it won't apply If he uses my method, he can find where 7 psi is on the arm adjustment and that's where he should leave it, and let a boost controller do the rest (for more boost) like on all other cars.
7 psi is standard for 99% of wastegate springs out there.
