I want to ditch the A/c system in my SE and do air intake, but don't know how to remove the A/C, or even what the parts look like. All help is appreciated.
Can Anyone Do A Walk-through Of Removing A/c?
theres a large radiator looking thing infront of the actual radiator, remove that. follow the lines to the ac pump and remove that, finally trace the lines back to the firewall and remove them at the wall. unfortunally the ac and heating units are the same unit so u cant remove one without the other.
finally download the service manual for further photos and information to guide you on removing most of the system

I know the evaporator coreis behind the glove box. You don't have to break or cut the duct work that it's in. You can just remover the box, unbolt it, take out the evaporator core, bolt it back together and reinstall the duct work and your heater and defog will wotk just fine.

my heater works fine.just take out the pump and the radiator thing.leave the heater pipes on the fire wall.
im guessing your not going to drain the freon thats in your a/c. be careful not to inhale that shit. and you might not want to let your neighbors know that your releasing it into the atmosphere lol epa wont be happy.
im interested in your a/c unit. i want a/c back in my car., let me know if your willing to ship it
yeah, on a label ive seen the caution "may cause instant death"
O.o
Some shops will buy R12 freon, since it's hard to find. Vacuum out the system and all.
just turn the lo side coupling bolt on the a/c compressor until it starts to leak. then walk away for like 5 minutes.
its not going to kill you... in fact you can huff that shit and get high..
i hope thats not from experience.

no a friend of mine did it. not r12... but hey.
breathing in R12 for short periods of time will cause no harm, if you breath in R12 that is on fire (why it would be on fire, is beyond me..). the MSDS sheet says r12 is non-flammible, but under the right circumstances it can be burned, releasing a wicked deadly gas. ...so yeah, don't give it a reason to burn.
