damn i sound like such a noob.

i am interesting in using as much off this car as i can. any one need anything i will not rape you on prices. and i will give you club s12 guys a even better deal.

you asked for opinions right?
s12godJan 25, 2009, 5:01 am · #5

I asked this, when I first got the car. I have had my hands on it for a while, and have done some research.

ok so how about you tell us what you figured out so far. its good information since you see these in the junkyard more often then s12s

caraudiofooleryJan 25, 2009, 5:44 am · #7

intake and exhaust is NOT interchangeable, thats a fact lol

what else can you use?... the motor and the motor only. the ecu wont work unless you want to do some major wiring. and most of the clips are of a different obd1 style.... it would be easier to drop an ls1 in it.

we have, basically, a 280zx front end and a 300zx rear. both of which are nothing like a maxima.

you might be able to modify the front seats to fit...

This is what I'm working on right now.

and this...

maf swap

dont you have the stock s12 intake manifold? why go through all the hassle of modifying for a maxima manifold?

a maxima manifold will not fit a 200sx, it will hit the firewall. and if im not mistaken, the intake/TB will face/hit the firewall.

also you MUST HAVE an SAFC if you use a bigger maf.. otherwise it will run lean.
you will also need a wideband 02 to tune the safc(or pay a shop)

putting a bigger maf without tuning it would be the same as cutting a huge hole in the piping after the maf

At the time I didn't have a oem 200sx intake. But i'm going to use the original intake manifold. and yes I plan to run a wideband 02.

I also found a set of side feed 370cc vg30dett injectors. Wont be able to use them until I pick up a nistune setup. but thats the plan

This is true. The older maxima's t.b. is front facing, and you can use those. I would like to use the plenum I have from the third gen but It's not going to happen.

The maf this car has shares the same part number as the rb20 & rb25
The side feed injectors with maxima rails have to be from a 90-94 z32. I wanted 270c's but all I found was 370cc

Wrong wrong wrong. The tag is the same color, but the maf itself is different. 4 pin?

You can also use the steering wheel.. yayyyyy.

will a pathfinder manifold hit the firewall?

s12godJan 26, 2009, 5:28 am · #16

NO, but it will hit the hood, But you can trim the metal down.

I don't think I will have to run a wide ban. This maf came off a vg30e, and I'm using the fuel injectors which are the same as my dual feed (180cc). I plan to use a wide ban to use my 370cc's but not until later.

well i plan on running a pathfinder manifold...

it flows 30% more than z31 manifold, soooo

i think its possible to use smaller engine mounts to lower the engine, thus the center of gravity up front too, perhaps that will clear it, i was also going to gut the hood supports anyways

s12godJan 26, 2009, 6:31 am · #20

No I haven't tried it but the z31 guys say it will. If i does hit our hood it's not by much. I plan to use one.

use Hockey pucks
