I'm kinda stumped here. My cluth fluid is leaking somewhere, but there is nothing leaking on the ground as far as I can tell. I've bled the system and every few days, I have to top it off or else I get air in the lines again. Also, when the car is running, if I ease on or rest my foot slightly on the clutch pedal, it will sink and stick to the floor. Even when it's just been filled. In order to shift now, I have to stomp it. I hope this is a cheap easy fix. Any ideas?

Clutch Problem Solved.
sounds like your slave cylinder is going. similar situation happend with my supra. started like that then 3 days later it blew out. i'd try that first being that a slave for the s12 is only about 18 dollars.
Look up under the dash near the clutch pedal. Check under the carpet and pad.
Get under the car and double check for leaks. Dont rely on puddles. You gotta really look. Pop the rubber boot loose from the slave cylinder and see if its leaking. Follow the clutch line from the master cylinder all the way to the slave cylinder. If you check every inch of the system you'll be sure to find it.
Also if you have a very small crack in the rubber line it'll only leak when the pedal is pressed. Have somebody press the clutch while ur under the car with a flashlight.
I have checked up under the dash already and adjusted the pedal out when the prob first started. Was ok for a few weeks then it happened again. I'll get under it on thursday and have my lady push the pedal for me. I hate getting under there cuz my e-brake doesn't work right now. Had to use chocks and leave it in gear when I replaced the rack & pinion. Thanks for your insight Iggy. Most appreciated.
no problem
Its probably the rubber line. It'll shoot fluid out in a stream when the pedal is pushed. Pretty funny.

who needs a clutch? just match the engine revs and NEVER stop facing up-hill!
Thought I could put it off one more day but god hates me. Shit went out completely on the way to work this morning. Got a ride to my house to get my jack and extra tools, so I thought I'd check this post. I'll let you know what it is later this evening. Hope it's just that hose...
Damn it all. Got under it and didn't see a leak from the hose and had no pressure on the pedal so I tried to bleed any air out to see if I could at least get it home. An hour of bleeding and a half gal of fluid later, still getting air in the lines somewhere. Also the push rod wasn't moving at all. I was stumped again so I ran down to autozone and picked up a new slave. Took the old one off and noticed the fork(?) or whatever the slave rod pushes against didn't move much and a chunk of plastic fell out from behind it. I have some pics I'll add soon. Got to go tow that shit right now. Be back in a few. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Sounds like a bad master
If the clutch fork has excessive play in it you may have some collapsed clutch fingers.. But it sounds like a faulty slave to me.

The fork has about a half inch of play. It looks like it should go back further when pushed, but it doesn't.
The pics...The first shows the plastic piece that fell out, The last two show the play in the fork.

u have a bad master but wheres the fluid goin? find all that fluid
yeah I'd go with the master and slave while your at it but like iggy said find that fluid
Since the pedal went to the floor and I could never get pressure back from the attempt at bleeding the lines, I couldn't find the leak when someone pressed the pedal and had to pull it back up again repeatedly. Plus there was fresh brake fluid under the master from constantly filling it, and under the dampener from the bleeding I had to do recently. I'll install the new slave and see what happens. The plastic thing isn't an issue then?
Gotta be the master. New slave and still getting air in the lines. Also fluid is leaking under the dash now. Oh yeah, both bolts don't fit into the new slave! One is 14 and fits fine. The other is slightly larger and won't fit through. Drill it out?
Just a quickie...
If you're losing fluid, there's only a few places it will leak at. At the Master Cylinder reservoir, inside the car where the rod pushes in on the master cylinder, where the rod pushes out of the slave cylinder, and at the lines.
I know everyone has a different method for bleeding clutches, but you could try opening the bleeder then have your lady press the pedal down to the floor and hold it and you close it... repeat. She could pump it a few times but may not be necessary.
As for your fork play... there's always going to be play like that so don't worry about it. The rubber thing... *shrugs* If you can't tell where it went... wait for someone to identify it or just set it aside. you shouldn't need that, but it's curious.
If the bolt holes line up, i suppose you could drill out the slave cylinder, do make sure tough. However don't drill out your holes in your tranny :-) That's just not the way to do it... although if you did, you'd have to install a theadsert/heal-a-coil or whatever you wish to call them.
Good luck with your ride! I'm sure you'll get her back up and running. You're simply having a hydraulic issue somewhere... it's a simple system so keep at it and you'll have it running in no time!
DAMN! My definition of quickie = largest post on your thread
Master? or slave?
If the slave does not move, either there is no hydraulic fluid pressure reaching it, or there is air in the lines.
IF there is NO air in the line AND has fluid pressure, then the slave can either move or leak. If the slave is seized up in the bore, then the clutch peddle will not go down and will be rock hard.
If fitted with a new slave that presumably works, (and is not seized) and no air in the lines and still does not work, then there is no hydraulic pressure and the master is at fault.
datzenmikeMaster? or slave?
Hey man, we don't have slaves anymore.
The new slave is installed but no matter how much I attempt to bleed it, the air keeps getting in the lines somewhere. I can't get any pedal pressure. I was gonna wrench on it again today, but I got bit by a fucking rat at work the other day and my hand and arm are all fucked up. Got to wait for a new master to come in anyway.
Replaced clutch master cyl, slave, hose and bypassed dampener, prob finally solved. Still don't know what that plastic piece was, but I guess it doesn't matter. Thanks to everyone that posted. Nice to have my S-12 back.
