ArroIf you want to make the wheels look amazing, use aircraft stripper, polish the shit out of them, repaint the black parts, and use a clear wheel coat to seal the whole thing again. The dingy look they have right now is corroded original clear coating.
I might try that as it doesnt mean having to completly strip and re do the wheels. I was going to try to get these on the car tomorrow...but i will be working in the morning...so i might try to get em on in the afternoon...cant wait to have these on the car though...omg, no more steelies!

thanks, i was a hatch guy for a long time...but these things grow on you....hahaha. I have had a issue here or two with this particular car...but they all have seemed to just be hurdles for me so far.

lol, oh yah, i forgot...you have a thing for the notches. I have another paint scheme in mind for when/if it gets painted...if my buddy ever comes over and grabs my 82 rx7...lol. The guy who mounted the tires was like, your car has come a long ways since you bought it already...like 6 months ago. He also was the guy who mounted tires on these things when 510 guy had them and he said getting his low profiles on the hoshinos was a pain...i think because eric was most likely running a stretched tire.
my brother and i autoxed the car this saturday...we both drove the crap out of the car...pics to come. I really need suspension bad though....

maxima needs a starter, and it spews powersteering fluid...and it is an automatic, also my dad only has a key for the ignition, not for the door. It is all leather inside though with a power sunroof...i could fall asleep while driving that car actually...it is beyond comfy.

14s....son, i am rollin on 15s...lolzzzz!!!! I would armor all those tires...but they might be going back on the steelies here soon and i might be putting new tires on the hoshinos...autox next weekend and i am going to need some grip with the new springs/shocks. I just got done washing the car...so i am waiting for it to dry off so i can wax it again. I am glad you guys are digging the wax/polish though because so many people said they didnt care for the tr3 polish...but it did a good job...so there you go.
Well I wasn't judging height based on if it was 14's or 15's, just based on what the picture looked like. So I stay stay where it's at.
lol, i was just making a big deal because 15 inch hoshinos are super rare apparently. I might go with a 50 series tire...so it might increase the wheel gap...we will find out though after i get tires. It is a daily and I do favor function over form...so it might not go any lower until I go s13 front end conversion...I dont think cutting the rear springs would do much for the ride height in the back anyways because ride height in the back looks to me like it is most controlled by the length of the shock...

195/60....westlakes...lol. They were on the steelies on the car when I got them...the treadwear on them has been good anyways....but grip leaves something to be desires...especially with the springs and shocks...i can toss this thing around a 90 degree corner in 2nd and hammer the gas and the backs just spinnnn.

bought some 195/50s today...wheel gap is a bit much...but i am looking to get my autox times down enough that i can be competitive with the legacy. (not joking, he was smoking the miata at the last autox.) I kind of wish I could go lower now...but my times should be good this weekend...

205/50 15 falken azenis x4 next time
I was thinking 205s would look kind of balloonish on the hoshinos...I wanted azenis, but the local tire/exhaust shop guy said he couldnt get rt615s any more...i guess his supplier stopped selling them. He could get another azenis, but he wasnt sure if he could get it in time before this weekend...also, 400 bucks versus 300 bucks. I will most likely hit up tire rack or discount tires next time...but time was an issue. These are Sunny SN3800...and despite the horrible name and the fact that they are chinese tires...yes, they are made in china....i know, they did get some good reviews online that i have read...and i have already pushed them through a couple of corners and they should be able to bring the times on the car down enough this weekend to make it competitive or damn close. After school tomorrow i am going to go heat cycle them on the loop...got to get that new tire grease off.
fyi the treadwear, temp, and grip rating on these were right on par with the azenis he could have gotten....i dont remember the brand number...
the hoshis are 15x7 right? 205 is straight on 7" not balloon or stretch.

i got them $180 shipped to my door for 2 from vulcan. im due for some new ones. i rock them on my riken mesh up front for the uper drift grip
thanks guys...i will go that route next time...as i will have more time. I am hoping these will do good this weekend though...grip on these feels close to my brothers grip in the 86 with used rt165s...so, we will see.
