Hey iv got a sr20det swapped into my 200sx, the issue im having is at high revs like say 6300 rpm and up its near impossible to shift into a higher gear. it shifts good below those rpms but once up there it grinds and will not shift untill revs lower. also the clutch engages pretty much like right away with in like less than an inch of releasing the clutch pedal. now it is a semi racing clutch so its very grabby but i still think it should be working better. it seems as if the clutch is not full disengaging when the pedal is depressed. iv changed the slave cylinder thinking possibly its not pushing hard enough still hasnt made a difference. im wondering if maybe the master is losing pressure or if maybe the a clutch issue is happening? any input would be greatly appreciated thanks

Sr20det Shitfting Issues
It might be your syncro-mesh. I do know a pal couldnt shift up beyond 4000 rpm in his 85 200sx. This would happen in 2nd gear and he found out it was the syncro mesh.
synchros, my SR does the same except i just ram it hard, then it shifts
Check tranny fluid level. Sometimes it's the simple things.
Check that the pedal free play is about .2". If too much play it shortens the slave travel.
Is there too much carpet or sound deadener under the clutch pedal?
how would you adjust the play? cause it really seems as if the clutch is not disengadging proper.
Look under the dash at the clutch pedal and push down lightly with your fingers until there is slight resistance. his is the point where the linkage just starts to move against the clutch master. The free play at the pedal rubber should be about 1 to 2 mm. There is an adjuster and lock nut to set this.
Generally the pedal should have 7" to 7 1/2" of space between it and the floor.
You might try bleeding the hydraulic lines too. Fill the master and loosen the bleed screw on the slave. depress clutch and hold, tighten bleeder, release clutch... repeat 4-5 times to assure any trapped air bubbles have been pushed from system and only clear fluid comes out. Check the master often that it not go dry while bleeding.
