Spliced In My Diodes, Now My Car Won't Start T.t

Alright, so I spliced the diodes into what I thought was the side of my ignitor going to the coilpacks.  I then connected all four diodes together and butt connected them to a 14 gauge wire which I then just wrapped the other end around my tach signal wire.  I'm not sure If I should have just cut the tach signal wire and just ran the wire to the tach signal wire or did it how I have it now or maybe I'm on the wrong side of the igniter or something.  Any help would be much appreciated thanks!

The diodes look backwards to me.

Hmm, I read something that said it was cathode end going to the butt connector is that right?  I'll take a look at it tomorrow in the light

If I am not mistaken, the Anode should be on the ground wires of the coils, and the cathode goes towards the cluster. That way the pulse flows to the tach, but not from the tach

Hmm, well I think that's the way I have it.  There was a little diagram on the back of the radio shack package and it said cathode was the end with the little stripe on it.  That's the end I have going to the butt connector and then to the tach signal wire.  I'm not sure what you mean by the ground wires of the coils though.  Is that the wires I have them on?  Are those the right wires?  I might just try flipping them around to see what happens.

Well, I took them off and the car started as normal.  I then flipped them around and put them back on and the car started but the tach still didn't work >,

I'm thinkin I'll try the other side of the ignitor and see if that works

yeah i just tried to get mine working a month ago and had the same problem as soon as o would touch the wire from the diodes to the tack wire it would just turn over and never start but was fine as soon as i pulled it off idk what the problem was i have yet to try again i did notice that the back of my tack had 2 "light green" wires tho so idk if i was tapping into the wrong one or something

Why are you guys tapping in behind the cluster?  I tapped into where the tach feed was directly on the ca18et primary coil wire connector.....think the wire is blue, with the white connector.
Started up first try, and tach works flawless.....3-4 years now

thats what i tried to do first the only light blue wire i could find by where the original coils were and the car started but the tach didnt work

ROOF! I think maybe your S13 ECU tach signal wire is hooked up AS WELL AS the diode we wired up. Did you fix that wire you cut before we did everything? I'm thinking you're getting the S13 tach signal along with our diode pack and that's why it doesn't work. If you can, try to trace that wire out and see if it's already spliced into the light green or blue wire already, then try connecting a diode pack. If you have a volt meter, test those two wires to see that there isn't a signal already. I can't believe I totally forgot about it.

Yeah, I did reconnect the wire after that.  Also though I just remembered when I originally bought the car it had some aftermarket tac velcro'd in front of the cluster.  I'm thinking the problem might be stemming from that.  We'll see tomorrow when I tap directly into the cluster

OK, so I tapped directly into the cluster to the light green wire on the 4 pin connector in between the two bigger connectors that looks closest to the tachometer.  Unfortunately it still didn't work T.T.  Then I noticed that I actually hadn't reconnected the light green wire we cut by accident in the engine bay.  I reconnected that and then reconnected the s13 wire also.  Tried again and it still didn't work ><.  I'm gonna see if my dad has volt meter smiley...
