hey everyone, im wondering if anyone on here has put an Xterra supercharger on an SE. i have a friend that is offering me an Xterra supercharger for free if i can show him proof of someone that has already done it or that it can be done. so basically i can get a free blower if i can show him proof and if i promise him to install it on my SE. anyone know anyone that has done it?

and another thing arro, while im picking on you, your car is not quad carbed. unless you took off the twin 2 barrel carbs and put on 4 one barrel carbs.

there see? it's been done! haha, I'm not sure who did it, or who's car this is...but it was posted in my old thread about hood clearance, before I started the swap.

I may be wrong, but i dont think he ever got it running. at one point, it seemed like he (NeedForCaS13 - sean) and jason (premo-s12) were in a race to see who could get what running. it was good reading for some time.

ramen diet now bro. gotta eat lol

Colonel GustardJul 30, 2010, 6:33 pm · #9

lol, hey Andrew, im almost ungrounded so i can go up and help out a bit with the drifter. and maybe take my old block up.

on the blower set up, i was thinking of adapting it to the upper intake of the s12 and going from there, but i realized the blower will stick about 6 inches out the hood so yeah lol. ima keep doing some reasearch to see what else ima need to get this beast mounted on

meh, why go through all the trouble? get a vg33er like me! xD

Colonel GustardJul 30, 2010, 9:03 pm · #11

if only the funds were available lol. im 16 and dont have a paying job so its kinda hard to come up with decent amount of monies to flatter the S12

VG33ERGazelle?Jul 30, 2010, 9:53 pm · #12

truth...you don't wanna go my route if you're trying to save money...

this money pit is already in the 4k range, collectively

Colonel GustardJul 30, 2010, 10:53 pm · #13

wow, hopefully its all worth it in the end.

on a different http://club-s12.org/v3/index.php?topic=16826

i found a link that might help clear things a little bit

on that link i put, theres also another link to the build thread

VG33ERGazelle?Jul 30, 2010, 11:51 pm · #14

yeah! I was trying to find that thread and link it to you.

and I think it will be, it's definitely one of a kind...and to my understanding it'll be the only running supercharged s12 we know of [correct me if I'm wrong folks] and certainly the only one with a vg33er.

I'm not sure if those other two supercharged examples ever ran

Colonel GustardJul 31, 2010, 1:13 am · #15

they never did get it  running unfortunately, apparently it says he sold the set up and the car.  ima have to source out an upper plenum off an xterra and go from there

pretty much.

I believe there's also some variances in the pulley system as well, if I'm not mistaken
IggyEGuanaJul 31, 2010, 2:14 am · #17

hmm
vg30e with all stock bs = ~390lbs
minus crap call it ~370lbs
plus supercharger stuff call it ~400lbs
...
LS1 is 450lbs
ca18det is 280lbs hahaha

power gain from the SC all depends on mods and how much boost (smaller pulley).  220hp and 250tq would be doable and pretty sweet in a s12. even in what would be a relatively heavy s12.  i say cut the hood and let the SC stick out proudly!

VG33ERGazelle?Jul 31, 2010, 2:19 am · #18

thats why I suggest goin with the vg33er...I dunno how heavy it is, but they start at 222 and 245 hp and tq respectively, according to the factory. with ecu tuning, headers, exhaust, and a smaller pulley for more boost I'm hoping somewhere more around 350ish for horse...no idea where my torque will go

Navy_Mech2Jul 31, 2010, 5:37 am · #19

hoods are over-rated anyway. just ask David lol

This was my first boosted vg setup and it ran pretty good. It had far superior bottom end to my turbo version but not much on the top end. I hope you have a posi of some sort because you are going to need it!
