Who's Running Ka-t?
I have no idea who on here is....but ka-t.org is pretty much the definitive resource if you're looking into doing it.
theres a few on here though......cant name them off the top of my head
I know phisherman09 and garrett76zt are or were running ka24det's in their s12's. I don't really see why it would be that much different than an s13 ka-t since the s12 is roughly the same weight and the engine bay is very close to the same size and dimensions. As Scootin Scott recommended ka-t.org has 1000 times more info about ka-t's than club s12 has. I am in the process of piecing together a basic t25 set up for my ka24de s13 and I got basically all my info from ka-t.org.
yeah i have one.... mines a super basic setup, built on a budget
s14 KA w/OEM rebuild
t25g
megasquirt tuned horribly by myself.
ebay manifold
FMIC with random pipes i found my garage
ghetto side exit exhaust.
s13 iginition setup.
the spool time and low end torque is awesome. virtually no lag, thats what i like over a SR or CA.
im only running 7psi, the butt dyno puts it at about 200whp. it feels better than a SR in my opinion, and its still not fully tuned to its potential. once i stop being poor and dumping money into my other cars ill get it properly tuned, hoping for 250 on 12-15psi ( whatever the little t25 can put out).
Ill be the first to admit, bang out of the box with no work, a SR or CA is a better choice, but i love just dickin around with that car and beatin the hell out of it.
yupper. im running a kat..
Currently, its running without the turbo, because the oil seals blew, and i sent it out for a rebuild..
Ka24e sohc
t25g
safc
450cc DSM injectors
Walbro 190lph fuel pump
Gladman Manifold, with t25 flange
the list goes on...
I think its worth it if you want around 250+hp.
Its a pain in the ass if your tight on money.
cool thanks for the heads up, actualy im on KA-T, signed up like the two times i thought i was going KA-t and never ended up doing it, but i was just wondering if anyone here had done the deed, and if they had any issues with fitament, like turbo fitting or trouble running pipes or anything else like that
thats another reason why i love the KA-T, you make good power for what it is, and if something goes bad with the turbo, take it off and run NA just fine...
can you guys post some pics more in depth info about your cars?

what info did you need?
like my build is seriously the most ghetto thing i have ever done. i was trying to make a reliable setup for under 1k.
like my down pipe is off my old CA, i just cut and welded some random ass pipe too go out the side. thats the only "fitment" probably i ran into.
im using bits and pieces of a s13 FMIC i/c kit, and some off a old turbo G20 lol.
the biggest thing to worry about with fitment is the exhaust manifold since they're designed for the 240 and the bay is slightly wider than ours.
the manifold was the biggest thing i was worried about,
i was wanting to do a top mount but didn't know if that would fly lol
i'm still a good bit behind on my KA-T, but its nice to know who i need to talk to when getting it all together lol
how hard was MS? would you say it might be easier to wire than a stock KA harness and ECU? really thinking that MS would be the best option so that i can control everything and less restrictions on power.

diyautotune.com sells a plug n play for the 240 now that uses the stock harness, basically runs MS 3.0.

its actually really easy to use, especially if you buy a pre-assembled board, but i built my own to save money. the interface is quite easy, and you can setup up a basic tune pretty easily. ive never tuned a car in my life, but i got a base tune down and have the car running decently, aside from cold starts, which absolutely suck haha.
setup was easy, i used s13 ignition setup, i just had to run a vacuum line for the MAP sensor, a couple power/grounds, and GM IAT/CTS sensors that cost like 12 bucks for both. i couldnt get the s13 coil to work, so im running a msd blaster II now.
you can basically run any igntion and fuel setup you want. once i stop being lazy im going to install either a ford EDIS or run some SR coilpacks. thats what i like the best about it.
Im pretty sure you could make a top mount work, shouldnt be too much more work.
Just for future reference.. I got a Gladman side mount turbo manifold, and it fits with room to spare.
But then again, i only have a t25g... so a bigger turbo is pushing it,, but still might fit. look at my build thread for pics.
