I finally got the KA to run, and i dont want to stay straight piped cause it sounds like poopsicles. I welded up myself a set of blastpipes i want to run, but i want a muffler before it. And i do not want a can. And i want something thats relativly small, maybe the size of a caty?

Muffler?
summit has like ten million different types and sizes. i went to buy one before i decided to sell this thing (STILL FOR SALE) and it was dizzying.
well i want something small in size that sounds relativly good =/
I have video of my KA swap with a Magnaflow Race series muffler:

The nice thing about the Magnaflow Race series vs. their Street product line is that the street necks down a bit internally, and the Race spec mufflers do not... inlet and outlet diameters are the same as the interior path diameter.
It's the same muffler Keith uses, and I think it fits the look of our cars quite nicely. Also tucks up under the car well... especially good if you have a Mark I as the bumper has a slight relief where the tip can rest (Mark II is straight from left to right).
No fartcan issues. Low, growling tone. Pure sex IMO.
damn you arro lol i like the sound but i dont want a muffler like that, i want on i can put in my exhaust and run the blast pipes in made after, that and i live in a very rural area, so that would get smashed or ripped off. I bottom out alot.

Magnaflow all the way. It's what's on my S12, And the BMW
The Probe got the Borla
Something that small, and far forward on the exhaust, will not net you much quieter. A Thrush glasspack WILL help, but give you the annoying rasp
I have a glasspack...its going bye bye eventually...when i get around to doing the exhaust...
i have a glasspack now, its annoying and i dont want to put it that far forward, i want it on the rear just like a muffler i just want my blastpipes right after it.

Center in/out, or offset?
small and cheap but not the best sound?
or
Small and less cheap but better sound?
To start it off I can recommend this "turbo" style magnaflow for cheap, but sounding okay, and will last longer than a cherry bomb or thrush

idk what ur setup is but a magnaflow single entry - dual exit oval would work pretty well for a pair of blast pipes exiting the rear in the normal place. the oval can tuck pretty nice under the car further forward then stock but still behind the axle. check em out on the magnaflow website and then get under ur car and visualize. use older honda exhaust hangers so it doesnt move alot. they free from junkyard eh. GL
oh and what ur running for a header?
oem manifold and downpipe. My friend just gave me a flowmast after i asked him if he knew of any, but i have a feeling it may be too big to fit under..
flowmaster, cheap, local, and sounds smooth
custom 350z resonated stillen header back= win!
i plan on running the 350z resonator to blast pipes.and scrapping the stillen muffler
How many muffler threads are we going to have? Lol.
Leegamer How many muffler threads are we going to have? Lol.
more...thats how many.
alright so i just worked up the most ghetto rigged exhaust ever until i make a muffler choice. I had a huge chrome tip from the saleen, cut the slant off the end, drilled a whole near the bottom, put in a silencer, and the welded the whole thing to my glasspack. I havent listened to it yet but it will sound like crap cause i have 2 bad exhaust leaks. o2 sensor hole i open, and where the downpipe meets the test pipe theres a leak.

Eeesh.
I feel for you. My BMW had a lot of leaks until a few days ago before it's new full stainless system. Now it sounds like cleopatra's orgasm
well i never used any gaskets when i put my exhaust together, i just put it on for the sake of putting it on.
How far away should my exhaust run from my gas tank? i feel its a little too close, but i dont really want to move it away unless im going to splode. Would a heat sheild work if i just made one?

If it's not touching, It's pretty much okay
Heat shield won't hurt though
It will only make the gas evaporate, not 'splode like heads in heaven on a 'nny spree
alright sweet, it was touching, but i havent welded on my hangers yet so when i do ill pull it over some, then ill just take a peice of sheet metal and make some kind of haggard shield
