Well i have a 1986 200sx with the ca18et engine and well i think i already damaged it.... it all started when i went drifting in it for the 3rd time lol i was going about 35 mph and took a sharp corner, i droped it to second rev the engine and left the clutch out the drift went good after that corner there was an empty wide space where i decided to do a j turn and there is where it all went to s**t..... because now there is a knoking noice coming from under the valve cover idk what it is i just know is not good the car berly runs now, the engine seems very weak and idk what it might be....maybe the valves maybe the pistons idk has anyone had this happend to them before??? would a ca18det bolt right on into my car or would it just be better to try to fix my engine??? the ca18det is 1300 bucks plus i need to install it would it be better if i just rebuilt my engine if that is even possible???
Car problems already.....

its on top. take the valve cover off. you should be able to see the rocker shaft, arms, etc. what rpm's did you see on the tach? over-revving the motor can break any of those things listed, as well as other stuff. look at the side that was making the noise and see if anything is obvious. if not turn the motor over by hand, do not try and start it. see if anything moves in a direction that wasn't intended by nissan. good luck.

Holy Moley! Redlining a 20 year old engine for 20 seconds any gonna be good in any situation. If you wanna drive it like that regularly an upgrade is definitely needed.

maybe you spun a bearing. Might not be too expensive to rebuild, look on EBay for rebuild kits or swap it like previously suggested.
