I own an 87 se which is auto.  I have a manual transmission that came out of an se s12 but no drive shaft.  Can I mix and match different nissan drive shafts to make one that will fit or am I best to have one made?  I've searched and really couldn't find anything.  Well everything else besides what I need to know.  Thank you.

You can keep the rear section of your drive shaft for sure.... as for the front, ALL manual MK2 cars, 87/88 use the same fs5w71c that you have, so a front drive shaft from any manual s12 87/88 will fit for sure... now for the mk1 and mk1.5 84/86, all the manual cars use the fs5w71b... which is very similar to the C, but is of older design, I don't know if the output shaft on the B tranny as the same number of spline and diameter as the C... I know that overall dimension are the same, so if it has the same output shaft, you could use a front drive shaft out of any manual s12... let me check this out...

Same output shaft diameter 30.5mm and number of spline, 27 between the B and C tranny, so you can use the front drive shaft from any manual s12 you can find... or the whole drive shaft from any turbo s12 you can find and the whole drive shaft from any vg30 powered SE with manual tranny s12 (although those are getting pretty uncommon)... cheapest way would be to search from a front drive shaft out of a manual s12 locally... if you cannot find one close by, post in the wanted thread, a lot of users here have ka24 swaped ussing the s13/s14 gearbox, which is longer on require to use the s13/s14 front drive shaft... that would leave manual s12 driveshaft lying around on the garage froor of some users here that could be had for cheap... but it's not that light to ship anyways...
