For the CA20E? I've never changed my transmission fluid before and i looked online and it says that they only sell it in 1 quart containers. I know that  used almost the whole 5 quarts when i changed my oil so do  need to purchase more? Also is there just a bolt i unscrew to drain the tranny fluid?

is it a manual or is it an auto? if it is a manual which transmission is it b or c once we get what transmission you have we can help you, if you are doing an auto you should change the filter and gasket when you drop the pan. unless you are going to do a pressure exchange then you should do the pressure exchange then drop the pan and replace the filter and gasket reusing the new fluid that you just flushed through the transmission.

Hahaha i guess theres more to changing it then i guessed. So what would i need for the auto transmission? And how much would it cost?

well changing the auto tranny should take like 8 quarts and the filter kit. i am not sure of the cost but it is just like normal mercon dexron, md3, or dex III, those are all the same thing. my local auto parts store has the filter kit for 13 dollars and the actual amount of fluid is 7.3 quarts but 8 is needed to achive that. it will cost you approx 70 bucks and some of your time it is fairly simple procedure though. just make sure not to over fill it is a bitch to drain i would add like 5 quarts then warm up the car and check it after that add as needed.

You need the ATF that is prescribed in the owners manual, then you pull the entire pan from the transmission, Remove and replace transmission filter you clean the pan, re-apply silicone or gasket(whatever you see there already), attach pan, fill until it hits the line on the fluid level dipstick.

can i ask you max why wouldn't you change the filter while you were there? i mean that only seems logical to me instead of running new fluid through a dirty filter it would be like changing your oil and saying eff the filter.

Left out a step. Edited it. I was in a hurry when I posted that.

Forgot to post, but do you re-add the fluid back through the dipstick holder?
