Those both look like JDM cars, jdm corners, grill, turbo hood etc.  IDK if anyone here could tell but Ive always thought the s12 and s13 bumpers looked pretty similar.  Next time someone's at the j yard they should check it out ;)

Yes, the other car is sporting an SE lip kit, the other is the one in question.  Still would like to know some comparison measurements between the two... Anyone here have a 240 sitting in their driveways that are willing to do a quick check???

technically.... not as SE lip hahahaha ;)

and no way thats an R32 or even S13 lip. Could be aftermarket, or from some random car (Saab comes to mind for some reason)
Looks ghey IMO.
SE lip > piggy lip > no lip> that lip.

The black car looks like it has an Impul lip. the pink car has a series II (SE) lip.  The lip on the pink car looks a little out of place of place is because the car is a series I, series I has a narrower piece the end piece where it meets the wheel well and that's why there is that bulge look.
BattleFairyNov 16, 2011, 3:25 pm · #10

why ya yanks call that always a SE lip?
its just a normal MK II lip

every MKII come with it

impul lip you say? hmmm have to investigate that

My car is a MkII and doesn't look like it ever had that lip. Then again, my car's bumper has been defiled by the previous owner.

because it IS an SE specific lip. in the US the MKII had an SE and an XE....and the XE didn't come with the lip, skirts, and mudflaps the the SE did.

Well strictly speaking it is just a mk2 lip as all UK, and I imagine Euro Zone, got that lip. We got mud guards and a shitty foam boot spoiler too, but no skirts.
I dunno but I guess it's SE specific in the US.

Europe didn't get the XE model, and that SE lip is also on the Candian MKII turbo model... so it is in fact a MKII turbo or SE lip

i still dont see why that would make a difference, seeing the pink car has a mk2 bumper and mk2(se) lip, maybe the bumper was not supported right at the lower rad support, i know i had to install two nut/bolt/big washer on my lower rad support where the bumper sat on top of because it wasnt clipped in right and had sagged for god knows how many years. washers did the trick and the lip was straight.

I can't really explain it but the pink car is a mk I and when you fit a mkII front bumper and lip there is something that just doesn't quit fit.

odd but understandable.
