ok so i bought a project 87 s12 se. when i bought it the old motors crank pulley bolt came loose which caused the crank pulley to shread the key off the crank. i just got done swapping the motor with a w series motor. car runs fine now but i need a new crank pulley and bolt. the w series motor has the wrong style pulley and a shorter bolt. anyone know what cars besides s12's have the same ribbed belt pulley and the same length bolt? maximas? z31s? thanks, josh.

i'd venture a guess that the 87-89 z31's (300zx) had it, but i could be wrong. i'll stumble about the internet and report my findings.

Thanks man. Once I get the car on the road I will do a proper introduction on here with pictures, plans and what not. This is just the only thing holding me back.

The 3.0 L (2960 cc) VG30E produced 153 hp (114 kW) and 182 ftÂÃ,·lbf (247 NÂÃ,·m). Bore is 3.43 in (87 mm) and stroke is 3.27 in (83 mm). In 300ZX form, it produced 160 hp (120 kW) and 173 lbÂÃ,·ft (235 NÂÃ,·m). On April 1987 the "W" series VG30 was released, adding 5 horsepower but leaving torque unchanged. In 1989, the Maxima received the 160 hp (120 kW) rating, but also used a variable intake plenum improving torque to 182 lbÂÃ,·ft (247 NÂÃ,·m) @3200 rpm.

It was used in the following vehicles:

    1984â€ââ,¬Å"1989 Nissan 300ZX/Nissan Fairlady Z (160 hp/165 hp)
    1984â€ââ,¬Å"1989 Nissan Laurel

    1990â€ââ,¬Å"1992 Infiniti M30/Nissan Leopard
    1990â€ââ,¬Å"1995 Hardbody Truck
    1990â€ââ,¬Å"1995 Nissan Pathfinder/Nissan Terrano
    1992â€ââ,¬Å"1999 Nissan Gloria/Nissan Cedric (179 hp)
1992â€ââ,¬Å"1998 Nissan Quest/Mercury Villager (modified to become a non-interference design)

Ok so I went to pick n pull today. All the bolts on the vg motors were longer. But they were also fatter. Maybe the motor I got with the car wasnt a w series motor? I'm stumped. Anyone know anything about this? Im just going to go to Nissan and order the bolt but I don't know what car I should order the bolt for.
