Heat Shield Noise

This has been a nusiance problem off and on for many years.  I have used wire to quiet rattles on the shielding surrounding the pipe.  I continue to have an annoying buzz at about 3400 rpm. Think it's coming from the shielding mounted on the floor above the cat or pipe behind the cat. Has anyone stuffed some kind of insulating material between the floor and the shield? Ideas appreciated; thanks.

Most of the time the car's heat shield doesn't buzz, as they're bolted on and rather sturdy.. Usually it's the head shield welded around the cat that has vibrated or rotted partially to mostly off.. Stock or aftermarket.

Cat's pretty new and no sign of noise there - any idea of heat resistance of min expanding foam products? Might be just the thing to inject between the body & shielding.

I took all of my shielding above where the OE  cat was at about 20 years ago...also the shielding in the back above where the muffler is.  It took care of the rattling from vibration I was having back then.  No heat damage either 20 years later......take all that crap out!

I tried to take mine out when I first got the car, I couldn't get the screws out.

Found a missing bolt on one of the pipe hangers forward of the mulffler. Noise magicly disappeared when I replaced it. I found some spray foam that's labeled to slow fire spreading in homes, wonder what that would do sprayed between the body and the heat shields.

Eventually dry, crumble, and make more noise.
