Im wondering if its possible with out to much trouble to be able to convert a Ka from a maxima or something to RWD without to much hassle. I can get plenty of them around me but ones from s13 are oddly hard to find in my area since the 240 guys eat them up. I can get parts like s13 manifolds and shit just not the dam motor itself >:|

I'm not sure if it applies, but I know the mazda BP engine is in both FWD and RWD configurations, and it's just a matter of changing how the coolant lines are routed.

Youll need a RWD intake manifold and exhaust manifold. Assuming the block castings are the same for motor mounts and such and a RWD tranny will bolt up and the accessory drives will work then yea i dont see why you couldnt use one.

I know the heads are different as in the distributor location. If you use a fwd head on the rear wheel drive application the distributor will interfere with the fire wall. If you use the rear wheel drive head on a fwd application the distributor will interfere with the alternator.

2 bad you aren't closer I have 3 kae swaps sitting around. I am a Cadet man so out they go... The s12 I am buying is coming with 1 as well will probably be posting that complete swap with altered harness for an s12 on here soon after I buy it. To fund my CA build.

is it with the KA same crap like with SR´s?

i really hate nissan for doing this! a fwd sr cost here around 500bucks
a RWD
1000-2000

FAIL

Different block casting. 240 transmission does not line up.
Different head castings. The Distributor would be inside of your firewall.

It does not work.

What jay said I had the 2 blocks side to side and their different engines with same internals and same valve cover

yeah, don't use the truck motor. on the 240 ka starter bolts to motor using a long snout starter, the truck motor the starter bolts to the trans using a short snout starter. plus the cam is different, truck cam has less lift and runs out of breath at 5k rpm.
