I have a 1987 200sx with a CA20E and it runs good until it warms up and then it stumbles and shuts off. It won't start up until its cold and even when it does it has a really rough idle and struggles to run. Every time it does this it needs retimed. The MAF sensor has been replaced and it has new plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, and coil packs. It seems like the crank angle sensor (optical spark and fuel advance) in the distributor has gone bad and keeps messing with the timing. Any ideas on what it could be? Haven't checked the ECU to see if its throwing any codes. Thanks. :\

I had the same issue with my 86. It was a bad crank angle sensor. After changing the dizzy it ran perfectly fine after.

As long as the plug is the same, the optic sensors swap from i4 and v6 cars. Just be careful not to damage the disc, and be sure to reassemble in exactly the same order.
