Shake all the time or only at higher rpm?  Shake sitting still or only when moving?

nightrunner12Apr 23, 2012, 1:52 pm · #6

it shakes at low rpm because  i never took it at high rpm but when i sit still and rev nothing

codes?? s13 or s14 ka? are all of the cylinders firing? vacuum leaks?

rednucleusApr 23, 2012, 3:46 pm · #8

So probably drivetrain, not motor - try coasting and put in neutral, see what happens. Also coast and turn off motor; thanks.

nightrunner12Apr 23, 2012, 11:58 pm · #9

it's a ka-e and im thinking its a drive train problem witn the shaking bt the bog is down to a vacuum problem now since the idle is ruff so soon egr delete should be done

Did you have the driveline out? Marked and put back in the same? If not, I believe it needs to be put back in original orientation.

what are you talking about? the driveshaft or something?
rednucleusApr 24, 2012, 10:50 am · #12

Yeah the driveshaft. It is balanced as a unit, and if it's not installed in the same orientation it can have alot of vibration.

nightrunner12Apr 24, 2012, 12:41 pm · #13

it's a ka swap ie 2 different shafts put togwther

Phisherman09Apr 24, 2012, 12:56 pm · #14

Maf sensor is bad

rednucleusApr 24, 2012, 3:46 pm · #15

May need to take them and have them balanced - any other members have a driveshaft balance problem before?
Could also be u joint or carrier bearing

ArroApr 24, 2012, 5:53 pm · #16

No he doesn't, both shaft sections are individually balanced.

1. What does the engine do when you try to rev it while the trans is in neutral?

2. Does it do this in all gears?
nightrunner12Apr 24, 2012, 6:22 pm · #17

it revs up fine bt when in gear it wont go past 3k without cutting out

Im with him.  Ive had 3 cars with mafs go out and its definatly worth checking into.
nightrunner12Apr 25, 2012, 12:35 pm · #19

okay ill give it a try asap

rednucleusApr 25, 2012, 12:41 pm · #20

So does the maf problem account for the shake, or are there two things going on?

nismo_200sxApr 25, 2012, 12:51 pm · #21

driveshaft balancing? it has never mattered in any car i've messed with. 3 piece, 2 piece, 1 piece or anything. unless you like to take apart the driveshaft completely and seperate it from where it was originally connected there shouldn't be a problem.

nightrunner12Apr 25, 2012, 8:14 pm · #22

its most likely my maf bt im qith^ i never had a driveshaft balence problem ever and ive done alot of swaps
