Not sure if this is in the correct spot or not. But I might be purchasing a bucket seat soon and was wondering which brackets/rails are best for an s12 ?
s13, s14, z31 ? thanks

How tall are you?

Honestly, the BEST brackets are on the stock seat.

Dono, Some seats might and others might not due to design. It is all a giant guessing game of custom modifications with s12s. If you are told its Bolt on..... Expect it to involve a bit labour

I have always had the best luck removing the rails specific to the vehicle from the stock seats, then creating brackets to get the new seat mounted to those rails.  Expect to spend some time on custom fab and possibly an extra trip to the hardware store to get longer/shorter/different bolts.  As far as things that require custom fab go this isn't very complex but you will end up putting the seat in and taking it back out several times to get measurments and make adjustments.  Just make sure you don't skimp on the material you use on the brackets.  You don't want your seat shifting mid corner!

I second that^

Yeah that's exactly what it came down to for me, now for design and testing. Thanks

i thought s13 rails would fit in an s12 i herd? i was going to do the same thing

Who ever told you that is poop lol. You either modify the stock ones with brackets to fit the bucket seat or fabricate your own.

I'm same hieght. I cut the slider handles off stock rails and bolted universal mounts to them and welded the rail where I wanted.

Here's the best I could find in my phone. I'm thinking up hacking up the stock rails again to lower it more because its kinda high for me.

Its simple.

1) I cut of the welds and brackets that hold the spring and mount for the slider handle to attach to each rail off so that the sliders are flat enough to attach my seat mounts. Doing this will force you to weld the sliders in one place... fyi.

2) Drilled a hole on the front and back of each slider to fit a nut and bolt inside the slider track to bolt to the mount. DONE.

Dam too bad there's no step by step pics cause I'm lost on that lol

200srdriftFeb 15, 2013, 6:30 pm · #19

its kinda basic fabrication

mine is the same as this but using stock rails and not custom flatbar. i'd go his route but drill more holes to make it some what adjustable.
