So I'm in the middle of doing belts on my car when I see this little sticker.
The P.O. of 23 years told me that at one point in time she had the engine replaced due to a timing belt failure. This obviously didn't stop me from buying the car, everything seem to have been done correctly, not a hack job. I assumed it was done with a used engine with God knows how many miles from a junk yard. Now I'm wondering if it was replaced by Nissan with a "New rebuilt" engine, if so then that's awesome.

The sticker reads:
REMANUFACTURED ENGINE
ENGINE TYPE: VG30
PART NO: 1010B-01P00RE
SERIAL NO. 65 5950
NISSAN MOTOR CO LTD
MADE IN JAPAN

I'll post pics later today/tonight when I'm done with the belts, but I would like to know if there is any way I could find out any info on this motor.

They probably did replace the whole motor.  valves and piston's don't play nice together.  And I'm sure it's just your run of the mill 9.0:1 compression ratio VG30.  There was no super awesome special version of the VG30 in Japan.

I was more impressed with the Made in Japan sticker more than anything. I guess by "info" I meant production date or mileage at time of installation (no records with the car) or if it is a "W" series etc. For the sake of searches I will post a pic though.

Awe yeah, the "oh-one poor" replacement longblock. lol I've got one just like it in my VG510 wagon. What are the casting numbers on the sides of your heads? They're just above the exhaust manifolds. That will tell us if it's W series or not. Mine is not.
