I can get my s12 startedand i can keep it running with my foot on the pedal, but as soon as i let off the car sputters out and it does it over and over again. I've had the motor timed, ive been able to drive it off the trailer and thats it... whilst fiddling with it the fuel pump has stopped working and now the projects on hold.

Could replacing the fuel pump fix my problem? where else can i look to get my car idling cause i still havent been able to break in the motor o.O

mechanics have looked at it, but im pretty sure every mechanic in rapid city has never heard or touched one of our cars.

thanks for the help clubs12

Ya if the fuel pump is bad id replace it car needs gas to run lol.....id start with that and see if it fixes the problem. Also sounds like the maf or maybe vac lines

And you could prob find a used pump on here for pretty cheap

Although the pump sounds bad i dont think its the problem because if the pump is dead the car wouldnt start let alone rev when you stepped on the gas. Do you have any mods done to the motor? Also check the codes on the ecu it'll tell you where to start....

You can always apply 12 vdc to the pump directly to see if it runs. If it does, then your ECU is the culprit. You can hook power direct to the pump, there are directions in this forum. Just realize that it won't shut off in an accident, you would need to have a way to do this. As far as no idle, sounds like you may need some idle airflow adjustment, once you can get it to run.

Speaking from experience :( Did the exact same thing on my ca20 after the head gasket and valve seal swap. would not run unless i was on the gas
