Coils I know there is suppose to be 2 of them, but I only see one its up by the master cylinder under a reservoir. The car has no spark and I shoved a spark plug on the coil wire and grounded it out and not spark. I undid the connector to the coil and stab a volt meter on it and i got 6 volts? I dont really know if that's right.
any common fails in the spark system, or any ideas whats up with my car, or tests or things to check?
Now I don't have a clue about other things.
The second coil is under the air box, you have to remove that to get to it. My car had an intermittent no spark issue that turned out to be the transmission ground being loose. And, my ignition module inside of the distributor went bad once and I got no spark on one side. Can your car be push started?
its a auto so no idea if it will push start but i will go check out the other coil, thanks.
Not wanting to span this place, heres a new question.
I am thinking about putting a MSD box on my car and I was wondering if I get the MSD signal from the cam sensor or crank sensor would the injectors still work enough to dive the car? even a "limp in" mode would be fine. as long as it runs enough to get the MSD box set up. My end goal here is to use MS for the fuel and a MSD box for spark and really clean up under the hood.
reread that and I guess I should say that i don't plan on removing any sensor just splicing the MSD wires into the pigtail on the sensor.
