Hi guys
I am new to the forum and i am from the uk.
I just picked up a dr30 fj20. I am planning to put into my mk2 s12 which has a ca18et.
I know that the intake doesnt fit from a dr30 but i am gonna be running carbys so thats not a problem.
The only problem i might have is the exhaust manifold as its to big... is there any way i can modify it to fit?
thanks

just kidding
sure you can do it, why not? if you really think about carb´s you should maybe gain abit more experience about cars.
you Need
Saw
Welder
pipe

its called metal working or something like that :grinwink:
you also could weld a SR manifold on a FJ flange

I don't know. I've seen cast iron welded, but its not easy.

The best bet would be to make or modify a header I'd think.

Design and fabricate an exhaust manifold.
p.s. you gotta post pics.. Do a build thread about it!

sound for me taht he have an NA FJ.........so no cast. and i doubt, a logstyle is quick and easy to build

Yep, wit carbs, makes sense. I have NA FJ also. Have not attempted fit of the cast iron exhaust manny in to S12, prob never will - going turbo.

Cast iron needs nickel rod, and either cook the whole manny to 900 degree then weld, or try just small welds at a time. It can be done, but the expansion and contraction of brittle cast iron wreaks havoc when welding.

There's an exhaust flange that shows up on Ebay Au, its kinda pricy, but either make one or buy that one, then cut apart another tube header(s13) and/or build from scratch.

The cams in the FJ aren't bad, but the cr is one of those neither here nor there things. At 9:1 for an aluminum head, its kinda blah. Still makes more power than all the other NA 4s short of the QR, but there's more in that motor.  Comp needs to go up, and better cams would help. It's also a bitch to get steeper than 4.11 gears in an R200 if your going cammed N/A.

ok found a full manifold with downpipe for 80pounds or 160USD  shot blasted and heat paint and picked up another for 50quid or 100USD
