I was thinking of buying performance came with some of my tax returns but can't seem to find any for the vg30. I may just be looking in the wrong places but Idk. Anyone know of a company that makes them? I forget who I was talking to but they said I could get re-grinds for like $200 Idk where tho. S12Rich said crower but I can't seem to find any for the vg30e.
So I know I can find some for the z32 vg30de but it being a dual can can I use one set of those came? I wouldn't think I could.
performance camshaft?
there is a group buy over at z31performance.com...ISKY CAMS...good stuff.
I have a set of isky cams in my car, 270/270 with .465 of lift. If you get something that hot, you might want to consider getting the heads ported. Also be sure to get new stiffer valve springs and new lifters wouldn't hurt (Not 100% necessary).
have you dynoed the 270/270s? How do you like them?
I'd like to know the power/torque differences also. If I were to get a set of those came would I HAVE to get the heads ported and the springs/lifters?! I was hoping not to port the heads untill I was ready to build the heads all together. I just want some nice cams for now to get that mild power and that distinct cammed sound added to the exhaust ima get.

I went on the idly site and can't seem to find any cams for the by. Only 4cyl motors...
thats because the VG cams are special order regrinds, you need to call them directly.
Ugh gay. Is there anyone that just carries vg30e cams?
I_heart_VVL on 10:53:10 PM / 03-Feb-13have you dynoed the 270/270s? How do you like them?Never dyno'ed it, but I didn't Valve springs, lifters, long tube headers and cams all at once so its hard to tell which had the most effect haha. I really like them but I know I am losing out on a lot of extra power because my heads are not ported. It screams at 4500 all the way to 6500 now, before I had a rev limit lower because it had no balls past 5500 (imo). I want to raise my rev limiter because I know the cam has more to give, but most everyone who goes to 7k and more ends up spinning a bearing haha. Once I get a crank scraper I might think about it some more haha.

You don't HAVE to do anything, but depending on how many miles are on your car it might be a GOOD idea. That being said you can get away with a stage one maybe a stage 2 cam with oem spring if you keep the revs down, but again its really not recomended. As for the lifters, cams wear into the lifters and make kinda a crown, if your car doesn't have a lot of miles of it, you can get some fine grit sand paper and fine a Perfectly flat surface and (wet?) sand the crown out of it.
night_s12 on 12:17:36 AM / 04-Feb-13Ugh gay. Is there anyone that just carries vg30e cams?Unless you are trying to drop 500$ on Jim wolf cams, not really. that being said MSA (the z store) does regrinds fairly quickly and are decent from my under standing http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/PEM01 there are also a bunch of other people that do cams and what not. if you looks up Z31 cams or VG30E cams on google you will find a lot
I have a set of new stage 2 msa cams I'm not planning on using. If you don't want to deal with the downtime of having yours reground shoot me a PM
You should look around for what they call the "euro" cam. good shit.
From what i heard there damn near impossible to find at all. Can I even use them in the vg? I thought there were just for the ca's
they aren't impossible, but a pretty penny, might be able to find a set on z31p, they are worth it from what I hear though.
You can find "euro" cams from Pathfinder forum guys for about 100-150 bucks in good shape. Just takes a little sleuthing.
Why thank you my fine sir
Are these different? http://www.nismoparts.com/catalog/?section=318
should be the same.
