Anyone know the proper MSD coils that work for the CA20. And as we have two coils. I assume its the same coil on each side correct?

I'm pretty sure it's these blaster coils that have been used with good results,

I used Blaster SS coils back with my ca-et

Do you need an msd ignition controller big bulky box to run the msd coils or can they just be ran by themselves.

I assume thats just to get the most out of them and what not.

No you don't need special controllers, the SS coils are a better option for our design than the cylinder-shaped ones.

So have we seen any difference between the canister shaped blaster coils and the square boxy ones?

Because the canister style uses the wrong connector type at the coil wire end, with the exception of early CA20 cars that had ONE cylinder style and ONE high-power coil. You can't replace the high-power coils with cylinder-styles, and turbo and later CA20 8-plug cars use high-output coils from the factory. The SS is the right choice. Keith didn't you do a write-up once?

I couldn't find the old HTML file :(

how does running  coils work does  it replaces the distributor and the wires are ran from that or are they individual coil packs sorry  in pretty much in new to coils  id  i rather work with distributors because im more confident abut them, but there's only so much i can do  sorry .I have a ca20e
