Ok guys... Please give me and this topic a chance.
I am dutch... I have seen so many topics etc but I dont get any good answers...
I have an AE86 with D2 coilovers en camberplates.
+ the Rear axle has a Kaaz 2way LSD.
I want these on my Nissan S12!
IS IT possible without modding too much?
I am really at a loss (and stupid).
Thanks in advance.

AE86 to S12 - suspension - rear axle etc.
Is your S12 solid rear axle like the ae86?
This is gonna sound very childish but it's raining outside hahaha and I want to make pictures...
So I will have to wait...
But I have no idea what the major differences are with the AE86 and S12 in rear axles.
I believe this has been discussed before hasn't it?
As someone who right now has BOTH an AE86 and an S12, and who understands the S12 and AE86 suspension setups, I can tell you that this will not work without LOTS and lots of custom fabrication work. Just because the AE86 is solid rear axle and the 1984 nonturbo S12 is solid rear axle doesn't mean minor modification will make them work. They are totally different in terms of how the suspension is handled. AE86 uses a paherd bar which is total shit in design, whereas 1984 SRA S12 has a very nice 4-link design that works extremely well.
Still.. I am betting that you don't have a 1984 S12, but instead a later one with IRS in the back. So it really doesn't matter.
Not to mention, the wheel base of the AE86 is different. And the brakes are inferior.
Anyways, this won't work without completely redesigning some parts of the rear unibody, and all for a shittier axle design.
Ah ok thanks for that!
Yeah I got a Nissan S12 (twin spark) 1.8 turbo from 1986.
and my AE86 is also from 1986.
Because I have a Kaaz 2 way lsd in my AE86 - is one of the reasons I want that in my S12.
What could be the options?
And I have a D2 coilover setup on the AE86... If I look into specific topics and see pictures of both suspension S12 and AE86 it lets me believe it might be very swappable.
But hey I am just a drifter - I am an idiot when it comes to swapping parts etc. :(
If you have a turbo S12 then you have the R200 differential in the rear. An S13 LSD will work if you reuse your pinion ring from the S12's diff.
NISMO or KAAZ for clutch-style, Quaiffe or OBX for torsen (which is my preference).
Take my word for it when I tell you that the AE86 rear suspension is inferior to our 1984 4-link setup for SRA. And that it's not worth the hassle to attempt for the "gain" you think you will get. You can drift just fine with what you have if you prep it right. Your biggest gains will come from completely replacing suspension rubber with urethane parts, and doing so with the rear crossmember gives you a chance to lose some negative camber by flipping over the bushings.
There is a lot of info on how to properly prep your suspension. Tightening the bushing points, stiffening up the springs, and adding some front negative camber goes a long ways for those who have drifted these cars. Just don't expect them to ever be an S14. Then again, neither will an AE86 be an S14, either.
