That plug would go to the gauge cluster in the 240.  For my DE swap I remember using a orange wire out of there.

BUt i dont know where it Connects. Is The Cluster pigtail in the driver or passenger Side? And also i Saw that You're from austin tx! Im from san antonio!

It's not gonna go anywhere, unless you have an s13 dash/harness and cluster in your car, but you prob dont.  Like I said I used an orange wire out of that connector for I believe the start signal.  I also have an s14 cluster in my s12 so I did end up using some other wires to make that fully functional.  I think I've seen that s12 around on the inter-webs, did it once have an s14 KA in it?

Yeah like alhickabee said, this connector send a bunch of signal to/from the ecu to the dashboard. The only one that is really needed is the start signal, other than that there is a bunch of unecessary stuff like ac switch, powersteering pressure switch, rear defogger, etc.

when I first did my swap I left the connector unplugged and hidden behind the dash on the passenger side. This year I got rid of it as I cleaned the engine harness from all the wires that were not used.

Well im going to use a s13 cluster cause i really dont want the digi cluster.  Now i know what im looking for. Lol
Im Not really sure, all i new it did have a KADE in it before i Got it. And i think you Might have.

Well i think thats what im going to do to Start it Up.

Yeah you're basically gonna have to *adapt* it to your S12 at this point. What's nice about the earlier Nissans is that the engine harness is separate, so it makes swapping in another motor easier... like the KA, which has its own engine harness. BUT, then when you go to wire up the control and displays, that's where you have to get to splicing.

If it were me, I'd get a dash harness connector from a KA24E and cut it, say from the junkyard... then I'd just take the cut ends and wire that up to the S12, so I could disconnect and reconnect it at will. Splicing wires directly to the ECU-side connector will work, but if you have to remove the ECU you're gonna have spliced wires to break again.

Alternatively, you can use single in-line connector ends, but that's still never gonna be as clean and easy as what I suggested. It also means you could, in theory, have your dash set up to run EITHER a KA or an OEM S12 engine ;)

There is some nice deutsch diy connector kits that will look good..in fact much better than a 20 or so wire plug with only 1,2 or 3 wires connected to it. I find these kit super handy when you have to build custom harnesses for fans, aftermarket gauges, etc. In my opinion, if you plan on doing some wiring job more or less frequently, a kit like this is a must!

Recently I bought them locally at Home Depot but I couldn't find them on their site. But they work well.
