I have been troubleshooting this problem since Friday, as it just started to happen as soon as I turned on the car.
Replaced CHTS, FTS+ FPR, MAF, ECU, clear up any if there was any vaccum leaks which I have not found any. All intake seals are still sealed,
z31 ecu tells me in the codes IAVC, s12 ecu tells me CHTS and FTS even with the new ones installed.
Checked fuses all the fuses are good, checked relayed, replaced relays just incase but no change.
z31 86 MAF is toast as it was one of my long and on going starting problems but that was not my issue.
Car runs like really bad as it is very sluggish when I accelerate. Idle is what you see in the 2 videos I have posted above.
Any other ideas?
idling problems.
Inspect your spark plugs. You could have had a fuel injector crap out. I had a Maxima that did the same thing. Found 2 stuck open fuel injectors. The plugs on the corresponding cylinders were completely fouled out. May not be your problem but its worth checking. If you do have a stuck open injector it wont take long to wash the rings out on your probably high mileage engine.
all plugs are good just typical soot. is there more to expect from them?
Wonderingraven on 01:18:15 PM / 09-May-13all plugs are good just typical soot. is there more to expect from them? When was the last time you had a really good tune up? My car was bogging so bad after tapping the wall it felt like a ka24e on 3 cylinders haha. After I changed my plugs and wires it runs killer. Rock auto has some for 26$ (I got BECK/ARNLEY Part # 1755854 http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,1208652,parttype,7224) that are oem fit.
Also another thing to do is rewiring your fuel pump, My friends SE started doing that and after redoing it, it runs perfect again.
Today, new NGK plugs and wires, new rotor and cap last week because the cap was broken apart.
More of an update,
Timing belt seems to help just a tad but still the gremlin exists.

Here is an updated video.
So far:
- Plugs
- Wires
- Rotor
- Cap
- S12 MAF (clean and new)
- S12 ECU
- FPR
- CHTS
- All Vaccum leads replaced (third time now)
- Timing Belt + tensoner.
injectors maybe if you can find some known good ones swap them in and see...also doing the fuel pump rewire couldn't hurt
I will double check the fuel injectors.
Yeah unplug the injectors one by one the sound should change even with the crappy idle if it doesn't change then thats the bad injector just remember to plug the previous one back in befor unplugging the next one. if none of them change then try some injector cleaner

ok lol
I just practically said the same thing gus. LOL I would have to remove the whole intake mani just to get to each injector.

Question is, is there supposed to be any up and down play on the shaft? I can move the rotor up and down just a small bit.

Might have my idle problem solved. When I get a chance I am picking up a new dizzy this weekend.
I had to replace my rotor and dizzy cap due to uneven ware and the dizzy cap shocked the shit out of me when I was checking my vaccum leads. I didn't realize it until I removed my dizzy and the shaft goes up and down and after a few questions, it is not supposed to be that way.
Will know more when my weekend comes up.
