So even tho I'm a dam taxi now since the Pontiac is fucked I'm still trying to find time to prep as much as I can that way when I do the motor/trans swap its as smooth as possible. So I'm wondering what's the easiest way to unhooking the a/c lines from the compressor? I plan on keeping the a/c in my car so I don't wanna just take bolt cutters to them. My problem is both cars have refrigerant in them.

Your best bet is to just unbolt the A/C compressor from the bracket and tie it up out of the way best you can with zip ties or the like.  If you unhook the lines you'll have to recharge it, it's just easier to leave the lines hooked up.

Ok. I was hoping to just unbolted but that does sound easier.

They do just unbolt, but all your coolant will come out. Dennis has it right, if you can just keep it over to the side, you wont have to recharge it.
