helllllp i got fried

So something got fried i had a power surge, could be 1 or 2 things but....... my brake lights and reverse lights work but my running tail lights dont work and also my gauge cluster wont light up please help oh and i drive a 87 se

Check your multiswitch that controls that and also check coresponding fuses

im probably gonna sound dumb saying this but the multiswitch is what cuts on the lights right? but i checked every fuse and they are all fine

yeah the multiswitch is the switch that turns the lights on and brights and blinkers pull the whole assembly and clean the contacts with brake kleen Iggy did a write up on it here somewhere.

This just happened to me and I got pulled over for it.

I believe the fuse it was, was in the passenger panel. a 10 or 15 for illumination or something like that.

i had this hapen on my 87 SE it was the fuse ghost was taliking about,i replaced the mulitswitch and fuse
