hey has anyone esle got the problem of the sub making the car vribrate and sound really crap.. i have the hatch and when u crank the sub it sounds like its destorting bu its not...

has anyone found how to stop some of it ?

tighten every bolt in the car, and maybe place foam between things that will rattle (like the spoiler and the car). Too much work.

I get a squeaking in my trunk somewhere..I can't find it..it's annoying...ehhe

dynomat helps a lot. there is also a spray foam that helps tighten up some of the squeaks.

ya tighten up all the bolts and screws.. i also added this rubber material i found at home depot and then i took some foam and stuffed it between the rear panels and the sheetmetal of the car

You could always turn the bass down a couple notches :banger:

Dynamat = biggest rip off out there

There are TONS of other sound deadeners that work just as well at a significantly lower price ...

Insulating foam works well and it's cheap, but only use it for crevasses ...

go all out and fill the doors with concrete and shit

Jmac279date not saved · #9

How would you roll down your windows ? ;)

Stinkydate not saved · #10

you dont need the windows down for SPL comps. But if you really wanted them down then just unroll them first then fill it with conrete. This would also make a conveinent hole in the top to start filling the stuff in at. 8-)

What if you're doing a drive-by competition ? (Window(s) down, SPL from 6 feet away or something like that)

If you are going to the effort of filling your doors with concrete, then you better figure on making all your windows plexiglass, and putting metal bracing in too to prevent sound loss...

try using weatherstripping behind the liscense plate. i've done that on all the cars i have put a stereo in with positive results

Jmac279date not saved · #14

I do, too ... Although, I've strayed away from using weatherstripping in favour of something better ... I can get sheets of rubber foam from my dad's work, so I just cut it slightly smaller than the license plate, then place it behind the plate and screw in the license plate. Absolutely NO vibration ... Using it behind interior panels works well, too ... The thing I like about it the most is that it's not permanent so, while it doesn't work as well as true damping material such as Dynamat, it's free, it's removable (doesn't detract from the value of the car), and it still gets the job done ...

i just out all my interior panels in the rear!!! sounds a lot louder!! and no rattles :headbang: so durn ghetto :wtf:

I had a lot of rattling on my car from my sub but i used some poster puddy, the stuff thats kinda rubberish to stick posters up with, and i put it in the areas where it made a lot of raddle. It seemed to help it out a bit but i still have to get some of the light harnesses in the back to stop rattling. But the puddy seems to work out for me.
