the above post won't work for MKII cars, we have a very different grille.

DON'T BUY THE APC SHIT!! I know that's probably common knowledge, but no one told me :finger:

The stuff is way too thin, it dents in a low breeze and it cost me almost $50 for a sheet.

Then I found the same stuff, thicker gauge, for $8 at canadian tire.

Basically, you need to figure out a way to make a frame for the mesh out of either your existing grille or make a new frame.

Which is what I'm trying to do.

Wanna see how not to do it?

yah, i don't have a "honeycomb" grill. I just have a striaght black one. There is nothing to really attach the mesh on to. So, i was thinking to get some silver colour rods, and attach them. Has anyone done this before. You know, like those new Altima grills. I don't really know how that would actually work.
Any help would be usefull, i already got my grill off and its broken in 3 pieces.

If you take it off completely, you should be able to see where it attaches, then just make a copy cat version. A place like even Home Depot has the thicker grill mesh. But Matt is completely right...DO NOT use the APC stuff...it is complete shit...good for ricers, not for people who want custom stuff. Most of the time people dremel out the inerds, leaving just the top, bottom, and sides. The grill is attached from the inside, and there you go.

Here in Australia you can buy non genuine new replacement grilles for the s12 for real cheap, (obviously copies made in Korea or China or somewhere like that). I'm pretty sure they can get either the honeycomb type or the later slat type for series II cars. They would be no more than $50 or $60US, (here anyway). Usually your local panel shop or such will have a book, they can order non genuine panels etc out of for cheap. I think this would be a much better alternative than bodging something up if you could get one.

Would it look wierd if I put a mesh grill on, but don't have the position lights under the headlights?

Here tell me what you think... I think it looks pretty cool though. 8) Also I like what you've done with the hood, and ram air scoops!!! 8)
