They are 14x7 4x114.5 but have a +8mm offset. Anybody has tried these on for our cars?

Indecisivedate not saved · #2

it'll come way out from the fenders

stock is 15x6 +35

Alex Frostdate not saved · #3

My Celica I believe has that same offset. I'll put them on the 200, and take some pics to show what it looks like. The only difference is that my Celica rims are 14 X 6

project200sxdate not saved · #4

hey i would really like to see some of those pics what the rims look like!!

Indecisivedate not saved · #5

pretty sure he's talking about this one

http://quick.freeshell.org/img/mkII.jpg

the MK.II Supra..

he said Celica-Supra tho..so it may be older...by the time the MK.II Supra was out, the celica and supra lines were split.

youthanasiadate not saved · #6

Yah, that's the one, that particular one is the P-type.

Mimmsdate not saved · #7

i got the exact rims on my 'rolla

Nemisisdate not saved · #8

Yea, I got a set of those rims! They are really good condition too! I got all 5 cuz I jacked the full size spare. The tires are kinda cruddy and dry-rotted, but they are wide. Is the stock size on those 225/40R14? cuz thats what they are on mine and it seems really wide for the rim... But the rims fit right? no problems? They are overall smaller but only by less than 2cm. If they ahve no fitment problems I might use them for awhile. They probably give the car better handling due to the lower profile and how wide they are. Plus they really look cool!!!

vg30e_x2_200sxdate not saved · #9

no no no........you'd better look at those tires again.

225/60/14

That's the stock tire size.

225/40/14 does not exist.

TechDaddydate not saved · #10

Does anyone know the specs on the Mitsubishi Starion/Chrysler Conquest Sti rims? It seemed like this was a similar style rim but in a larger size, but I'm not sure.

vg30e_x2_200sxdate not saved · #11

I can tell you that they are 16x7 front and 16x8 rear with a 5 x 114.5 bolt pattern. I don't know the backspace and offset off hand though.

Nemisisdate not saved · #12

Umm, no. I remember clearly. The tires are 225/40's. I had a hard time believing it too. If I could take a pic, I would but I don't have any digi stuff. My friend does but he lives 25min away frome me. And the tires are another 15 minutes in the opposite direction. That makes 2 40 minute drives just to take some stupid pics... But I'll see what I can do... Those tires are wide as hell!

vg30e_x2_200sxdate not saved · #13

Interesting. Who made the tires? They should have about a 1" tall sidewall being a 40 aspect ratio.

Nemisisdate not saved · #14

I think 3 or 4 of them are BFGoodrich. I dont know about the other(s). And actually the sidewall is about 3.5 inches on paper. Because: 40% of 225 is 90. convert that to cm and its 9. and there is 2.54cm per inch, its 9 divided by 2.54 and you get 3.54something. thats the way I did it, and I know tires. WE have a 60 series on our 15 inch rims. so you may have gotten confused. If not, oh well. I'll go check them tomorrow. I'm still pretty sure its 225/40R14.

vg30e_x2_200sxdate not saved · #15

I had a 1983 celica and I had the supra flares on it (looked really sweet).....anyway....the stock tire size was 225/60/14.

Oh by the way I also sold tires for almost 4 years. That's why I got all jumpy about a 40 series 14" tire. I have never seen one or ever heard of one for that matter.

On edit:..I just did a search on the size....it seems they are avalible, but everything is comming up in Europe.

Nemisisdate not saved · #16

Okay okay I'm sorry. I was wrong. They are a 60 series. I just thought that it would be really tall if it were a 60. But I admit, I was wrong.

vg30e_x2_200sxdate not saved · #17

hey no problem....it just sounded a bit strange is all.

Nemisisdate not saved · #18

But, uhhh... Back to the same question. Will these rims fit with any clearance issues? Im gonna go get them tomorrow and try them on. I just wanna know if there are any clearance issues or anything. Cuz these meats are wide as hell!

Pavementdate not saved · #19

lol... ya there will be clearance issues. Stock offset is +35... so a +8 will push the wheels out just over an inch and thats with out having the wider meat on them. I can tell you this, I tryed fitting late model Z31 rims w/ a +20 and had rubbing problems in the front (rear was ok though). You will definitly need fender flares. It would help a bit to reduce the tire size. These will probably mess w/ your handling too? I can tell you my car actaully handles better w/ stock or +40 rims on it...

Alex Frostdate not saved · #20

The front Supra rims I am 99 % sure are narrower than the rear. So I'm not sure the clearance would be a problem in the front. However fender flares would look beter on it with those rims. 8)

vg30e_x2_200sxdate not saved · #21

no. 14x7.

Alex Frostdate not saved · #22

I am pretty sure I've seen the fronts that are 14*6, or 14*5.5. I'll find out for sure though...8)

Nemisisdate not saved · #23

No, I think they are all 14x7 all around. Because there is a full size spare. Then again I was wrong before. But I will check it out today.

Nemisisdate not saved · #24

Yea, they are all 14x7" rims. And no they dont fit. All the bolts line up, but the center hub is too big. So if the center hole of the rims were bored out about another 1/4 inch or more, they would fit perfect. Also I think the bolt holes need to be bigger by a little bit, just so the lug nuts won't get stuck in the holes. because its a tight fit with them, I checked that before I attempted to put the rim on.

Nemisisdate not saved · #25

I looked at the size markings on all 5 of my rims and they were as follows: (some circle symbol) 8JJx14-7. so I'm not sure if it is 14x7 or 14x8. i'm pretty sure its 14x7 though. But if it makes a difference, these rims were off an 84 Celica Supra. So is that a MkI??? I know its called the Celica XX in Japan. Its amazing what you can lear from Gran Turismo 2;) Speaking of which, I have alot of the rarest cars in the 3 GT series. :)

Alex Frostdate not saved · #26

I couldn't get the doors open. There was steel in the back of the car, and the frame looked bent (meaning it looked like a bananna)...by the looks of it, it was a 83-84. It was not the same style as my Celica though...I wish...The car idd not have the little centre covers. The rims were also pretty beat up, but the tires on the back I think were 225, and the fronts were either 195, or 205...but I think they were 205. Both 14 inch. It was an auto model, and I couldn't get the hood open for a good look...I could not see ANY Toyota makings on the rims, but they look like the Supra rims from the 83-88 or so era...I know that they are a 14*7, but these were different...that is why it stuck out in my mind. If I can get them off the car...which won't be an easy task, I will take pictures to show... Now this really has be baffled... Is it possible that 195, or 205's could fit on the car???, and maybe I was on "something" when I was looking???

Nemisisdate not saved · #27

So they weren't the mag rims that came with the car? If its just the tire sizes, then you're mixed up. You can put wider tires that you're supposed to an a rim... Unledd they are really low profile, then you run the chance of collapseing the bead because the sidewall is ant too much of an angle... Blah blah blah...

Alex Frostdate not saved · #28

They look like the mag rims that came with it, but they have different tires from the front to the back (and side to side they are the same.) I will measure to make sure, but I am almost 100% sure that the fronts are narrower than the rears on this car...I'll keep everybody informed as it unfolds...This si really bothering me now...The fronts are either 195, or 205, and the rears are definately 225's...

vg30e_x2_200sxdate not saved · #29

that would have been done by the owner. The tires were all the same size from the factory. They would have been 225/60/14 all the way around.

Nemisisdate not saved · #30

Yea, I think the owner wanted a little but of a "pro street" look (Pro street look is defined as really wide tires in the back and narrow ones in the front, for drag racing) Anywho, I bet you knew that already.

Alex Frostdate not saved · #31

Ok here's the verdict...are you ready fo rthis...the rear rims are Toyota 14 X 7, the fronts are some Japanese brand 14 X 6!!! I can't read Japanese (Some japanese writing close to the bead of the rim), but I do know that they are Toyota look alike rims, and they are 14 X 6. Talk about F***ed up. An interesting twist...but really weird...I'll try to get pics This week...I can't understand what people do...I can report it though...8)

Nemisisdate not saved · #32

Wow, thats really interesting... and stupid at the same time The guy must ahve not wanted the car to handle well. In the words of Pontiac promoting their Wide Trac GP "Wider is Better" But you dont want it TOO wide:)

Mr.200date not saved · #33

Heh, well wide track actually refers to the width of the car ... but

I have come across so many Japanese "knock off" factory rims.

I do prefer wide on all 4, but for the most part you can fit a lot more tire out back, so I'd rather have traction and as wide up front as possible, than somewhat wide but the same on all 4.

Just got some nice Pilot XPs for my rear ... 225s for the back, I've got 195s up front. If I can stuff my 205s from the back up front (they're new) I'll be happy.
