If I have the sealed beam to h4 headlight housing conversion, are these the kind of bulbs that will work with the exisitng wiring?:

SilverStar illuminates with a searing intensity, exceeded only by far more expensive High Intensity Discharge Lighting. 4000° Color Temperature. Drive the Brightest Light.
H4 = 9003?
Up to how many watts can our wires handle? I remember reading somewhere that going too high will fry the stock wiring.

H4 Headlight Conversion

I've run an 80/100 before, but they have a 55/100 that would probably be better on other drivers.
Edited - Looks Like H4 bulbs can replace 9003 bulbs, so yes, they would probably work.
If you plan to upgrade the bulbs, I would go with either Hella, or Piaa...both street legal versions of both these companies are far superior the the Silverstar. The Silverstars are very good, don't get me wrong, but the Hella, and Piaa are just that much better...8)...I have Piaa too, they are in my fog lights (the light is half the size of the headlights) and nearly as bright...they are awesome...8)
Are the 9003's the same as H4's? I thought they were different.
Maybe not. I know when I bought mine the package the bulbs came in said "H4".
If the 9003 has a P43T base then it will work. From what I can see, they are the same. 8)
i'm using sylvania ultra brights or something like that. it's a pink and black package. i'm pretty happy with them. they were 9004's (which i believe are improved h4's)
9004's are a different setup from the 9003, and H4 This is what the 9004 looks like...http://www.piaa.com/Bulbs/Bulb-images/9004xw.gif

maybe i got them mixed up... one of the 9000 series is supposed to be an improved h4.
So we can use H4s and 9003s, but not 9004s?

To the best of my knowledge...yes...8)
i have a set of h4 lenses i got off ebay for like $25 with some cheapo hyperwhite h4 bulbs. i never had highbeams with this setup but i think it is because of my light stalk. but h4's will no doubt give you low beams
H4, and 9003 both all have dual fillament, and all 9003, and h4 will do high, and low beam...8)
hey i've heard from a few people and this happened to a friend of mine but the Piaa H4 head lights dont seem to last too long for the price you pay. My friends Piaa's burned out in 2 months and other people have reported them burning out in a few months within purchase. I'm not exactally sure on this one but its happened to my friends. Just something to think about. He had the Piaa H4 Super Whites.
Here in Ontario, Piaa has a return to place of purchase if the bulbs fail within one year from the date of purchase...
