well i should've posted this a week or 2 ago.. but i just now got around to it
my CA20E s12 was down for a while b/c of a dead alternator, but i didnt have the funds to buy a new one, so i had to wait till my dad could bring me one from the junkyard,.. only problem is my dad lives in SC so it took a lil while.. anyways.. i got it and the one he brought me wasnt a direct drop in.. he said he got it out of a Turbo S12.. anyways here's the pic of my "ghetto-rigging"
my CA is back to life

here is another shot.. this shows the pulley on the alternator.. its one of the 5 ridge ones..
wierd. my ca18et wiring harness was different than my ca20e harness with the alternator.
I bought a $150 racing alternator only cause it was $10 more than the regular one, and i had to get the ca18et one cause it had a different plug....wierd.
Hey the important thing is that it works now
Alex, your CA20E was an '85 right?.. mine is an '88, so maybe that has to do why i could use that alternator on my CA20E,.. b/c maybe when they changed over to hydraulic lifters they also changed the alternator?? idk.. just an idea, but yeah, the main this is that with some creative ghetto rigging it works :lick:
thats good. :werd:
