hello everyone, yes I searched, but my patience grows thin as I am on dial-up ( dont ask ).
Question:
will the CA18DE bolt to the CA18ET 5spd transmission?
Background to question:
I have the chance to pick up a good condition turbo s-12 (not sure the year) for $200 and I already have a 1988 nissan pulsar SE (the only year/model im told that has the CA18DE) and basically I want a decent sleeper with drive-sideways capabilities. does this sound unreasonable?
the turbo car has had a bad time with the current owner, who yanket the turbo motor to put in a non-turbo one, then proceeded to ELIMINATE the fuel injection. he furked it up, it has sat behind his house for a year or more, I am taking a liking to it. the wiring harness is hacked so much that I dont even want to deal with it, and I am completely willing to donate the pulsar to the s-12 if this is possible.
thanks for reading this long post. any accusations of insanity, comments, or criticism appreciated.
CA18DE to ET trans?

man i am building a killer CA18DE, it will be shooting between 175-200HP once finished and will be as responsive as a rotary! Its going to be put into my S12 (with ca20e) and it will bolt right in, so i guess yours will too as the ca20e and ca18et use the same gearbox (Nissan work shop manual). I might add i am making my engine from a CA18DET block, crank and rods, as they are much stronger and i want relaible power, not a dyno grenade! But good luck with your swap, its not a big drama to put a FWD engine in RWD config, but you might wanna think about the coolant paths, as FWD are different, its not too hard to do, also you might need a RWD CA18DE inlet manifold as the FWD will face backwards then you put it in the S12. Apart from that i think you'll have no drama's, seeing as the block is the same as RWD, so mounts will bolt right in.........i think i am repeating my self..........i will shuddup now!
Shoot, I was thinking about doing the same thing, but I was hoping the bottom end of the CA18DE was just as strong. Is the only difference the pistons, or are the rods and crank different too?
I believe that the FWD intake manifold actually points toward the front of the motor (in FWD form anyway), I will post a pic later when I have time, I gotta go to work now... later

heres the pic I promised, like I said, it points towards the exhaust manifold side of the head, I.E. the MAF side of the engine bay, which is OK by me. anyone have anything else to add?
