I was searching this site http://www.nissanparts.cc/catalog/?section=323 and found this "Euro Cam" part number 13257-D0103. If im correct isnt this the cam Bart has?

I would like to purchase it but am unaware if i will need those rocker arms it reccomends. was it reffering to the ca20 or the ca18et when it said the rocker arms are needed?

I have the Ca18et. plz help...?

Hey bart, what kind of outcome did this cam give you? have you noticed any improvement in hp?

has it messed with your idle? car moves better?

nismo said the cam is good for at least 15hp and if you have other mods with it its even better.. personally it made a huge difference and idle was very slightly affected but i can barely tell

I ran one on the CA20E race car, and didn\'t notice any change in idle quality.  Didn\'t notice a huge pickup in power either though, but I\'m sure it would have been much more responsive to some more mods.  Seems like a great turbo cam though (especially since that\'s what it was designed for...   )

the essence of the cam lies in forced induction and thats where it sees the real gains.. for n/a it works but not like it does when a turbo os introduced

Comparing two dyno sheets of similar cars, it looks like the euro cam offers a nice bump in midrange, but doesn\'t seem to affect top end power much.

Here is a link to my dyno run and Bart\'s dyno run (as well as others).

I think mine and Bart\'s should be the most similar since the other guys there have bigger turbos.  Bart made 190lb/ft and 160HP vs my 189lb/ft and 150HP.

As you can see, the only real differences in mods between these two are as follows:
Bart has a 2.5\" exhaust vs my 2\"
Bart runs 14psi with it dropping to 10, mine is 13psi with it dropping to 10.
Bart has 2.5\" intercooler piping vs my 2\"
Bart has the 60mm TB (I believe), vs my stock one.
Bart\'s engine is about 100k miles newer than mine.
Bart\'s A/F ratio is closer to 13:1 while mine is closer to 10.5:1.

I\'d say the 10 peak HP difference between us would be more the fueling and the exhaust than the cam, but Bart clearly has more power in the mid range than my car.

the a/f ratio was incorrect the a/f meter got clogged up from all us running the dyno that day so it was off by 2-3points...

Being in the middle of an CA20E engine rebuild, I checked with the parts manager at my local dealer.  This guy is on top of Nissan performance parts, supplying racers in the Southeast for years.

My engine builder needed the rocker arm ratio to set the valve spring height, and seeing these posts about \"different\" rocker arms for the Euro cam.  Not that it matters with my cam, but the parts manager states that all rocker arms for NA and Turbo motors are the same.  Nissan (Nismo) recommends you use new rocker arms for new cams, so the old rocker arms (which have the lob seat worn), do not prematurely wear the new cam lobs.

No difference in rocker arms between the motors.

Hi,

I am interrested in buying the euro camshaft for my 1987 Silvia 1.8 Turbo. Any of you with experience with this camshaft: is it any good? How many deg. does the original camshaft have? If I read correct, this camshaft costs 170$ plus the shipping to Germany. Do you think the power gain i senough for the money?

Thanx for your help.

Phil
