ok well i used the method matt had there on my ca18det
i got code 34 and from the det fsm is detonation sensor.....
when i first run the car it didn't have a knock sensor, so i got mine from the ca18et hard wire it to ecu pin out 23(where specified)
now it is in and going but i get code 34 still.
symptoms
car idles stumbly
car hesitates to rev.
car rev under full throttle but it hits a point where it refuses to rev no boost
any ideas?
I don't if the knock sensor from the DET is the same as the ET but I don't think it would cause all of that.
Do you still have the DIS setup or did you change it. If you didn't change the setup I would check the ignition coils and the power transistor. (pray to god almighty it's not the power transistor :bow: ) CA16(8)DE use the same ignition components so you could take them out of them.
no actually the power transistor seems fine
i unplugged it and the car dies
it revs...........there is sufficient spark
i thought so too, i didn't think knock sensor would cause all that!
bad coil: NOTHING once at/after 4000 rpm

coils got 2-3 om resistance...they are fine
i fixed a major leak sunday and took it for a drive. I boosted to 9 and when i let go the car refuses to idle and it's worse than it was...
don't see any leaks though, and there is spark
