I read in the ca20e section (holy mother of shits thread) that a ca18de head will fit a ca20e block and then I read in the ca18et section (some valve thread I can't remember) that a ca20e head will fit a ca18et. Could it be that I could build a ca18det in my shop? Oh glory, Oh rapture, seriousley, would this have a chance of working? Somebody let me know.

yea it's been thought of many times here are the problems with doing it.

The DE head and cams are not machined to accept our distributor so you'll to modify the distributor or head to use it otherwise you'll have to use a different ECU and ignition system to ork with the CAS unit on the DE head

there are others but I don't feel like writing anymore

Go to the CA18et section, about every fifth topic discusses this. Short answer, yes it fits, but there is work involved and machining will be necessary.
