Hi all, newbie here from Souht Africa. I have done it! broke no 2 spark plug clean off in the cylinder head on my 96 Nissan V6 pcikup(bakkie as we call it here ). Obviously the head came off and send to engineering shop for drill and tap. I need the torque settings for the head bolts and the sequence and the timing settings as well as the pully markings to refit the cam belt.
Any help will be appreciated. We dont have any technical manuals for that engine here.

That should be the VG33E I believe. I'm not sure if the specs will be the same from an 87 or 88 CG30E or not.
What I would do if I were you is call up a local dealer or go to the closest one. They should be able to give them to you. I would also think that the machine shop would have this info avalible as they would also be in the bussiness of assembly.
If you still want the info there are a few of us with FSM (factory service manuals). Me included.
I would want the specs for the correct year before starting to just generalise.
Thanks for the reply, i'm not sure what the VG33E specs are. My gues is a 3.3 litre? 3.3 litres only saw the roads here about a year ago. Mine is a 3 litre.(The very first 3 litre V6's NISSAN locally) I have tried the local dealers but they have a policy not to disclose any specs.(not even spark plug gap!). I will try the shop that do the drill/tap on the head.
..i tighten them as tight as i can by hand..(if you cant reach, like on the VG30's use the shortest extension possible, and tighten that way)..and then go 1/4 turn by ratchet/wrench..

sorry to say but that can lead to some bad probs the head has to be torque in a very special sequence or you can warp the head and have a imporper seal and blow another head gasket.. basically you tighten them down to a set ft/lbs then to a higher ft/lbs, then you loosen them all in a specific sequence and then retighten them again to the correct ft/lbs
The head torques in 5 steps.
Kg-m Ft-lbs
1 3.0 22
2 6.0 43
3 loosen all bolts
4 3.0 22
5 5.5 to 6.5 40 to 47
I will try to space the sequence order properly

I hope that helps.
This info is from the Haynes 300zx 1984-1989 repair manual.
I would do the head in three steps, instead of five. I would not loosen off the bolts. Headgaskets are made to be tighten one time only, not two. And I WILL NOT reuse a timing belt either.
Thank you guys. I will go with BullsEye's version :) Obviously a new timing belt will be used. Can I asume that the markings for the timing belt alignment are No1. piston TDC, left and right pullies have marks on them and on the rear belt cover. The crank pully has got about 5 marks on it. What gradiants are they and which one will be TDC? It will be great if i can have the timing setting for the VG30E and firing order too. Is there any web site with this info? I cant find any.
Thanks again for your help.
I seem to remember a 90 degree turn after final torque. I could be wrong.

no after final torque you leave it be

when you rotate the crank clockwise you want it to be on the 5th mark cause the 6th is 5degrees after tdc
Any one got the ignition timing for my 95/6 3L VG30E pickup?

well head bolts yes...but i thought it was in regards to spark plugs..
