Ok, got it to run and stay running, now it has adopted a misfire after running beautifully for a short period.

new

fuel filter
coils
plugs
wires
cap
rotor
exhaust

Again, I don't get it. Car ran well, really well ... and now it idles like crap, runs like crap.

It sounds like it's running on 3, but it's got spark on all 4, and all injectors lit up on test.

Weirdest part is it doesn't smoke ...

Any clues?

Man, there's so many friggin connections and sensors on these things I don't know what to tell ya. Mine was doing the same kinda thing when I got so frustrated I yanked the motor. It ran crappy for a while, I replaced the temp sensor, TPS, and a couple other little things, got it running like a champ, then it went back into crappiness and I couldn't figure out why.

Sorry I'm not much help here...

Well, I'm thinking maybe PCV ... but I really really really don't want to change it,

maybe even EGR.

*sigh*

Oh well, it just passed the last emissions test it will ever need ... bye bye emissions control devices.

Where is the freakin PCV on these cars? Is it that little POS box underneath the intake?

Yeah, ditch all the emissions. I'm gonna go through all of my stuff, and when it goes back in, it's gonna have the BARE minimum that it needs to run. Should end up with a nice clean uncluttered engine bay I hope...

ok, injectors were getting signal ...

I can't be held responsible for what they were doing with that signal!!

#1 injector wasn't opening.

Yeah, the PCV valve is on one of the runners of the lower plenum. I have no idea how to get it off without taking the manifold apart.

My turbo car is emissions-less ... I had to do that to get it to run right.

But I have a feeling having a 4th injector that is firing would help

you'd be amazed at how few vacuum lines the car needs to run properly.

I'm down to maybe 4 factory ones.

It's too bad the old forum seems to be down

I had a How To: Undermine the EPA
or
I fought the law and my motor won

all about which we could and couldn't live without.

And also things we can do to fool sensors that we're too cheap to fix ... but the server is telling me something about a critical error.

yeah man my car idles liek crap im only using the intake side spark plugs but it runs the same w all 8 so i duno mut it idles bad like hi lik 13-15 g and when i rev it it drops and dies out

timing. o2 sensor.

sounds like it might be o2 if it's starts and runs fine for a few seconds and craps out.

injectors not working is also bad.

Mr.200date not saved · #8

And finding injectors is a big PITA ...

*grrr*

Nissan has them, but they want $150 each ... no way

heh, they laughed when I asked about the recall *lol*

$30 to reman, but they take 7 days. To the wreckers I go I guess

Speedy, check along your injectors for signs of fuel ... the o-rings can rot out and start to leak.

I might have a couple here, no guarantees on if they work or not, but if you pay the shipping, they're yours...

[edit] The car was running when I pulled the stuff off, but it was doing the same kinda crap as yours, that's why I said I'm not sure if they're good or not...
