I just bought a Phanton LSD for $300. It turns your existing diff into an LSD.You need to find out what rear you have. I have a R-200 and I used the phanton kit #908 extreme. www.phantomgrip.com

Yep, Phantom Grip is definitely the cheapest LSD you can buy. However, you get what you pay for. Do you know what motor you have? Your profile says you have an '87, so is it the CA20E 4 cylinder or the VG30E six cylinder?

Heheh ... I love Phantom Grip's "charts and graphs" section ...

The Phantom Grip is not an LSD. It is basically a friendly spool.

But yeah, it is the cheapest new LSD you can buy.

I've heard mixed reviews, but the only people that seem to have problems with them are FWD applications.

According to the site #908 will fit all the R180, and R200's...

yeah, the PG is basically the same concept as welding the spider gears.

That little rectangle will lock the gears and give you both tires spinning. It also apparently will unlock too.

It's definitely a cost effective solution, but $345 USD = $450 cdn + shipping is still pretty expensive.

I still think that welding the spiders is my best bet...cost effective, and it gets done what I would like...8)

Yeah if you don't mind the inside tire chirping when you turn corners or pull into parking spaces...
