ok..my 1991 lumina decided it didnt want to have brakes..and so it is! Now im in the process of replacing the Brake booster. EVERY SINGLE car i have ever seen, has the bolts on the inside of the vehicle...except for my lumina...they are BEHIND the booster, on the firewall...thats great.how do i get them out? ive tried swivel's, giant extensions...EVERYTHING..to no avail, id take a pic, but digicam being stupid! MAybe i should study magic?
OR if you can give me another suggestion to my problem...when the car is running, the brake pedal is ROCK HARD!, as if there were no vaccuum reserve left...the master cylinder is newer, no leaks from the piston, all lines bled til clear (ok, golden-clear of brake fluid!)..i bled in the correct order (farthest to closest), and even ran seafoam in the vaccuum lines to make sure they were clean...??

Can you get a workshop manual? Sounds wierd, must have to take somthing else off first someone?? Who knows, maybe it's telekenisis you need to study.
i have the haynes manual...it says to a.) disconnect the brake lines...DONE b.) remove the piston from the brake pedal...DONE c.)remove 4 bolts from INSIDE of vehicle...!!! they're on the outside...lemme see if i cant get that digi cam workin...

I suggest a BFH...Chiltons manuals are quite useless when it comes to harder jobs. My suggestion may even be to ask the dealer...but pics would be super helpful...

Maybe an air ratchet with a six point shallow socket...
six point shallow socket...
Shallow socket as opposed to a deep reach because you do not have a lot of room to play with...and there are both 12, and 6 point sockets, 12 points tend to slip, and strip the head of the bolt easier, where as a 6 point doesn't.
12point on the left six point on the right. These are deep reach sochets...

Ok, heres what ive replaced to date:
-Brake Power Booster - $99
-Master Cylinder -$59
-Vaccuum lines (manifold to booster) - $10
-Front Brake lines -$28
-Rear Brake Lines - $20
-Front Calipers - $50
-Rear Calipers - $80 (why are they more than the front!!)
-ALL pads - $20
-Rear rotors - $27
And ive gone through a billion and 1 bottles of DOT 3 Brake fluid. My problem: i can bleed the crap out of the brakes, and get a GOOD solid pedal. as soon as i close off the bleeder, and pump the pedal, it goes to mush! Im thinkin i got a bad Master Cylinder. any thoughts OTHER than the Mast. Cyl.?? there are no visible leaks, BUT i do think the problem lies somewhere (if not the MC) in the Driver Reaer line. there is a high pitch Squeak when i open the bleeder. hmm...the sound comes from the Master Cylinder.
