Hey there I need a bit of help with the wiring on my JDM imported motor, a CA18ET. Most of the sensors on/around the intake are different/ have different plugs. I can't for the life of me get the last bolt between intake runners 2 & 3 out. There is just no way to get a wrench in there to turn it enough from either side, and i cant seem to get any size universal and socket in there. So plan B is to possibly cut the JDM plugs off the IAA etc and splice in their North American counterparts. Is this even possible, or are the actual sensors different inside? I couldn't care less if the check engine light is on, or it i had to keep my foot on the gas for a few mins to warm it up so she'll idle. I need to get this car running this week so any help would be greatly appreciated. Btw I just installed a set of 7x15 wheels with a 50mm offset for a honda civic and they bolt up no problems, I'm still going to use a 1/8" spacer for the fronts tho, in case I bend a rim drifting this baby at 70mph...

that's a bit strange ... JDM motors should have the same sensor array, just minus a few, as they had less strict emissions. It will probably have a slightly more aggressive cam too. Timing will be more advanced, as they can get gas with serious octane over there.

Welcome to the Club BTW, nice to see another Canuck. I actually grew up near Ottawa.

Anyway, you can always hit up Bart, I know he installed a JDM CA18ET after his USDM one let go.

Pictures would be a great help ....

And even stranger, those rims shouldn't fit *lol*

the 200sx has a 4 x 114mm bolt pattern, Civics are 4x100. The only Honda one that I know that would fit is the Accord, they're 4x114.

Well there are universal rims that have both 4 bolt patterns. My enkei rims on my s12 have 4x114.3 and 4x100 pattern.

Alright, what about MKI and MKII motors? I'm guessing that all turbos are the same, right? I was just thinking along the lines of the CA20's where the MKI's and II's are pretty different wiring and harness-wise. But I don't know much about the JDM or Canadian stuff since we didn't get the turbo in the MKIIs...

that's a good point Joel.

The MKI and MKII turbo motors are different here and there. That could be your issue. What you need to do is find out what year car your motor came from.

If your motor is pre 87, it will be a MKI.

Either way we can figure it out ;)

mk1 and mk2 turbos are different as well i have one of each and there are some different sensors that the 2 dont share at all

well not really. i have a mk2 motror but mines only a 4/86.. so it varies but many mid 86 turbos where concidered the mk2.... but then gain i really have a mk1.5 from the looks of it
