Im runing only 20 and even 15 psi at idle and at about 2 g i run 40 . I have a front main seal leak and im wondering if this is bad
Oil Pump

Sounds about right for oil pressure. Front seal leaking is a common place for leaks to occur. Kind of a pain to replace though. If it's not leaking bad, just keep putting oil in it...
Yeah i know today me and my machanic since i work in a shop did it but we ****ed up the gear but it was all rusted and shit took like 3 h non stop to get it out. anyway did that now the seal was hard as a rock so im gonna put a new 1 in and throw a new gear on .
The oil pressure on the computer at my shop said betweed 45-60 at 2g but i was getting like 35 at 2 g
WAt do u get once its all warmed up and shit and i only get like 40 at 3500 on the highway
replaced my oil pump last year, when warm i get 45 at idle and 80 at 3000 rpm.
with the old pump i had like 15 at idle and 45 at 3000 rpm.
the old rule of thumb is the minimum presure shuold be 10 at idle and an increese of 10 psi for every 1000 rpm.
Seeing this thread is about oil pumps, my '87 rattles (taps).
The upper half of the engine "taps" (same noise if the oil is low) when it's ran too hard. Yet it goes away after a while. It comes and goes infrequently.
The oil reads fine-
No water, no leak... Just taps like hell when under alot of pressure.
Then it goes away. Changed the oil and filter, put Lucas oil stabilzer in it and the tap went away- until I put foot into the peddle.
A block hose somewhere? Faulty oil pump?
Took it to a mechanic, he says it needs a (never heard of this before) engine flush (????) to unclog whatever is preventing proper oil flow.
