Mine busted out after blasting away a integra. How difficult is it to fix? What brand should I get? Any upgrades? For a minute I thought I lost the whole engine when I heard a boom sound out in the engine bay. I need to fix this ASAP. Pls help.
Busted Water Pump

Not to bad to replace......you gotta drain your coolant, take off your lower rad. hose, take off your fan shroud, flex fan in your case, drive belts, timing covers, timing belt.....might as well replace it too, and finally your water pump. Make sure you get a new gasket as well.
Nissan charges around $350 for a water pump/ timing belt combo replacement.
New water pump from Auto Zone or somewhere is probably around $70-$100.....and a little more from the dealer. The ones from Autozone has a lifetime warr. which comes in handy.
Gasket? What gasket?
Gasket? What gasket?
There's a gasket that goes between the water pump, and block.....just tell them you need a water pump gasket.
Water pumps ussually come with the gasket. Check to be sure its in the box before you leave with the pump.
Depends on where you get it. From the dealer they don't.
There goes all your expensive coolant.
Expensive coolant? Just use a 70/30 mix with the orange coolant.
70% distilled water
30% orange coolant
and a bottle of Redline Water Water.
I use this mixture in mine along with the water wetter, and the temp gauge stays well below the halfway mark with a 180 t-stat......even on 100+ days and running the A/C
No, Marvin was running some kind of expensive coolant that "wankelmonkey" introduced him to when he was down here last time.
yeah have ta go buy 2 gallons today.
i got a new oem water pump on ebay for like $15
